  1. I am very interested to get Bruce's take on this.
  2. Schmidt for 20 games at 13 mil > Marquis for 60 games for free
  3. Everything in the paper points to him playing CF. Everything coming out of Bruce Miles and Lou Piniella says he's in right field.
  4. We don't have 37 million left, we have 15-20 million. I wouldn't expect anything more for the offense through free agency except for one 4th outfielder. It looks like they are going after pitching now. I'm assuming the offense is done. On to the pitching. Are you kidding me? This offense is still only half baked. DeRosa, Izturis, and who in CF? All signs point to Jacque being traded. As of right now, we've got five guys with above average production for their positions in Lee, Aramis, Soriano, Barrett, and Murton... DeRosa is going to be slightly below average... Izturis is an offensive black hole... there's nobody in CF... and we have the pitcher's slot. I wouldn't exactly call us an offensive juggernaunt. We might not even end up being above average...
  5. If the only difference between Izturis and Theriot were a walk per week, you might be right. But Izturis can't hit for average or moderate power either.... and Theriot does both. Theriot's advantage on offense blows Izturis's on defense away.
  6. It's like waking up from one of those crazy binge drinking nights and getting a call from your best friend. "I did what last night?!" This thread is ridiculous.
  7. Alright fellas, I'm done. G'night chumps.
  8. If Bob Sanders was playing the Colts would have won. And if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle. What's your point? Why cant you people just leave me alone and let me be a sore loser (or sore person rooting for a team that lost)? I thought we were bonding. If we were doing that, you'd be your aunt.
  9. I can't imagine that will be much longer.

  11. How dare you try to bring logic into this thread. anyway..... So what's your favorite planet? Mines the sun. It's like the KING OF PLANETS! We all know that the moon isn't in fact made out of blue cheese, but I'll ask you this. If the Moon were made outta barbecue spare ribs, WOUDYA EAT IT? I know i would. I'd go back for seconds and wash it down with an ice cold budweiser! 1997 was quite a year. a lot of stuff happened. some good, some bad. mother teresa died. that was bad, unless you hated mother teresa. I myself was not a fan of hers, don't ask why. we were like oil and water, we didn't mix You can mix oil and water. You've just got to shake it like a British nanny.
  12. I am slightly worried that this is the most fun I'll ever have due to this contract... but what the hell, it's a party!
  13. I wonder how many of the 1500+ posts in this thread are mine... I wonder how many of the last 200 are about Soriano... I wonder why I care.
  14. So what's the dividing line between young and old? I'm 29, am I an old young guy, or an young old guy? Incidentally, the cutoff point is my birthday. How weird is that?
  15. PrimeTime, I'm 22. Sorry... you're not even the oldest young guy. On a side note, I am now out of Crown Royal, and moving to a very old bottle of Stoli. Unfortunately, I have no mixers. This could get interesting.
  16. a/s/l ? 18/f/trampoline
  17. Hey, I've got insomnia problems... sometimes I have to drink myself stupid just to get some sleep. This is just a preemptive strike.
  18. ! I drank a lot of that stuff at a concert in Milwaukee this summer. This is the only other time besides then that I have ever heard the stuff mentioned! It's second only to Indio. Which is hard to get considering it is mexican and isn't imported. I live in San Antonio and its tough to get. I really dont like going down to Laredo and getting shot to get some. So how did a texas beer end up sponsering a small concert in Milwaukee? Are you really asking how a beer company did something unexpected and not necessarily smart? It's kinda their job to bring out that quality in people...
  19. chocolate milk is a terrible mixer, definitely apple juice if you can't drink your liqor straight Are you freaking kidding me? Peppermint schnapps and chocolate milk... tastes just like those Junior Mints you get at the movie theater. brb doing shots of skol like a real man Hey, you try getting your mom to pick up liquor on her dime "for the family." Sometimes, you've just got to get creative. At any rate, I'm drinking Crown on the rocks right now.

  21. Same here. Vance: Chocolate milk all the way, duder.
  22. I hope he's open to a bench job. Jones getting traded anyday now for a SP. You can buy me a beer when it happens. That leaves Soranio and Murton. I don't know if there's enough money to get Drew signed , I think I might be stretching to get Lee here even though his desire to play here is pretty strong. Oh, I know Jones is gone. Thing is, Sweet Lou says Soriano is our right fielder... which gives Lee no place to play (as Hendry loves Murton) Drew might still come, since he can be an average CF defender... but no way CLee can handle it. He can't even really handle left...
  23. Hey, I lived in Texas once....... but I escaped ! Yeah, it took me about three years to escape. It's a big state. ;) Seven months FTW! You guys are slow.
