  1. Come on now. Santana has obliterated the league for three years running. You think that the torch is passed after two starts? As great as he is, he's got a long way to go. Consistency is everything. And don't get me wrong: I recognize this kid's potential... but... Also: he will have the arm troubles of Kerry Wood if they continue to tax his 21-year-old arm with 100 pitches every fifth day... That probably wont be the case. Felix is pretty sound on his mechanics, and Kerry Wood is probably one of the worst at repeating his mechanics. King Felix may repeat his mechanics, but the way he falls off towards first isn't a good omen.
  2. On the plus side of things, Gooz has looked a lot more like his old self so far this season than he did in his time last season. Considering we wont be moving Z, Hill, Lilly, or Marquis out of the rotation anyway, either Gooz or Prior was going to be wasted most of the season. At least know we know Gooz only has one semi-hurdle to clear now in Wade Miller.
  3. Not much point in doing anything with him until Jones is traded.
  4. I'm pretty sure you'll still get credit for it, assuming he was on your opening day roster. From what I understand, they are just similuating from opening day through tonight using everybody's opening day lineups in order to fix the scoring errors.
  5. I always liked America. Really? I was born in 1984. and you're not even close to the youngest poster here Of those that know America?
  6. Curtis Granderson probably should be ranked above him as well, one unfortunate slip notwithstanding.
  7. I always liked America. Really? I was born in 1984.
  8. Bill Hall has SS and CF eligibility in most leagues. There's no good reason to drop him. Gonzalez and Fielder are about even. Fielder will probably give you a bit more power, Gonzalez a bit more average. That one depends on who you've already got on your team.
  9. Oh, I've been through the desert on a horse with no name...
  10. At least it looks like they're bringing in Putz. He's the closer for my fantasy team.
  11. What do we care about Felix or the Mariners though. You can't bring yourself to feel good for great young pitchers that haven't had to deal with Dusty?
  12. Yeah, thanks guys.
  13. Unless this is some sort of fancy reverse-jinx, you all have no right to call yourself Cubs fans. Where is your respect for superstition?
  14. I hate you all.
  15. You're lucky we aren't on the playground right now, cause we'd have to scuffle behind the bleachers at recess.
  16. Everybody stop freaking talking about it!
  17. Why did you have to do that to my fantasy team? That's what i'm here for. You are an evil, evil man.
  18. Why did you have to do that to my fantasy team?
  19. I get four keepers for my fantasy league. I think Hernandez has a stranglehold on one of the spots.
  20. This is a ridiculous pitching matchup.
  21. DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince "Summertime" is off the hook, yo.
  22. Actually, I think you need to wait until after the makeup in July. I guess I had better get used to ordering pizza, then.
  23. I had planned to go grocery shopping after the Cubs game. I can't decide it that means I need to leave now, approximately when the game would have finished, or after the game Friday. The Cubs are ruining my life.
  24. I'm not upset at all with the way things are looking so far this year. The approach at the plate has been better than expected for almost all of our hitters... Soriano and Murton being the notable exceptions. The pitching is looking good... especially when it has to be noted that Gooz or Prior should be replacing Miller soon. Even the bullpen has been pretty good. The results aren't there yet for the offense, granted. But I'd prefer to keep this approach up, as it is more likely to bear dividends in the future than a "contact and small ball" approach. The power will come.
  25. Brad Radke managed it with a shredded shoulder. Then again, Brad Radke was a gamer.
