  1. Why did you have to do that to my fantasy team?
  2. I get four keepers for my fantasy league. I think Hernandez has a stranglehold on one of the spots.
  3. This is a ridiculous pitching matchup.
  4. DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince "Summertime" is off the hook, yo.
  5. Actually, I think you need to wait until after the makeup in July. I guess I had better get used to ordering pizza, then.
  6. I had planned to go grocery shopping after the Cubs game. I can't decide it that means I need to leave now, approximately when the game would have finished, or after the game Friday. The Cubs are ruining my life.
  7. I'm not upset at all with the way things are looking so far this year. The approach at the plate has been better than expected for almost all of our hitters... Soriano and Murton being the notable exceptions. The pitching is looking good... especially when it has to be noted that Gooz or Prior should be replacing Miller soon. Even the bullpen has been pretty good. The results aren't there yet for the offense, granted. But I'd prefer to keep this approach up, as it is more likely to bear dividends in the future than a "contact and small ball" approach. The power will come.
  8. Brad Radke managed it with a shredded shoulder. Then again, Brad Radke was a gamer.
  9. Depends on what you're looking for. If you want to look at this on a continuum from power to speed, Kinsler would fall on the power side, Upton on the speed, and Kendrick right in the middle. You'll get a good number of HR and RBI from Kinsler, good SB from Upton, and good average and decent everything else from Kendrick. Personally, I'd lean towards Kendrick... but if you really need SB or HR & RBI, Upton or Kinsler might be your man.
  10. Murton in to pinch hit! Murt is trying to end this thing with one swing.
  11. Don't knock it till you've tried it... :flower: Yeah..... but right out here in front of God and everybody ????? God has always been conspicuously absent from Cubs games.
  12. i wouldn't dare on ausmus Ausmus hasn't been a very good defensive catcher in a few years now. True but stealing in this situation is a bad idea. Agreed. I was just pointing out all you really needed to say was "I wouldn't dare"... the "on ausmus" part wasn't necessary.

  14. He sure does have great intangibles.
  15. Eyre's ERA is now down to a tidy 15.00
  16. At least he can afford a really nice vacation. And a nice island to have it on.
  17. Never threatening to score is a close game? This wasn't close after the first inning. I meant the score. A 4 run lead isn't invincible... (unless we play like we did today). I'm just trying to reverse jinx Eyre.
  18. Say goodbye to a relatively close game.
  19. Gameday said it was a wild pitch. It was but it was right infront of Barrett he turned the wrong way and let it skip away. TERRIBLE move--it hit his glove Barrett is the worst defensive catcher in the league. Y'know, even if that were true, and its not, his offense still outweighs it. It is true. Im tired of hearing about "his offense outweighs his mistakes behind the plate." Hell, I rather have Blanco starting behind the plate each game because I know he wont be dropping off-speed pitches, I know he will block pitches in the dirt, and I know he will call a really solid game behind the plate. Barrett is garbage behind the plate. He is better served as a DH in the AL than he is a catcher in the NL. I respect that you would rather focus on defense behind the plate, but it shows a complete lack of understanding the value of defensive contributions. It's surely frustrating to watch, but his offense does actually outweigh his defense.
  20. Gameday said it was a wild pitch. It was but it was right infront of Barrett he turned the wrong way and let it skip away. TERRIBLE move--it hit his glove Barrett is the worst defensive catcher in the league. Yeah, with Piazza moving to the AL and becoming a DH, you might be right. I can't think of any worse off the top of my head, at least. On the other hand, he's also easily a top 5 offensive catcher. Mauer and McCann are the only two definately above him.
  21. Can't blame that one on Barrett. Gooz was way off target.
  22. Getting stretched for the 5th starter spot. ::crosses fingers:: I would love that.
