  1. More of a permanent gimmick. It's a shame they aren't better looking then. I'd be more inclined to go to see them if they weren't the sort of girl I could pick up at the bar on any given weekend.
  2. ran out to LF to make a difficult catch in foul territory Was that in foul territory? I thought it was still fair when he made the catch.
  3. Pitches through 4: Arroyo - 69 Lilly - 53
  4. Lilly is matching Arroyo strikeout for strikeout.
  5. Ted Lilly went to bunt... not sure why. He popped it up, and Arroyo, Encarnacion, and Ross all sort of let it drop. Then, Arroyo grabbed the ball and fired to second instead of home. Floyd scored, and Lilly was running hard enough there was no chance for a double play.
  6. If BalsaWood is in here, I just have to point out that Jones would have probably scored on that if he were in the 5th spot and Floyd were batting 2nd. I have no idea what just happened there.
  7. Izturis with the RBI single! Another great at bat.
  8. I think it's because the broadcast is in HD on Fox, so I believe the picture is cropped. BTW... who is the [expletive] making my ears bleed with Thom Brennamen?? Ok, I've seen like three posts from you in the last two days. You're doing a real bad job of lurking.
  9. And just like that, Lilly forgets how to throw a strike...
  10. That's why we shouldn't have been using the DH during the spring.
  11. Great PA by Izturis. The pitcher coming up this inning increases run expectancy for next inning by quite a bit.
  12. It was a heck of a snag on a real hard hit ball. It certainly qualifies in "remotely" territory, if not legitimate territory.
  13. Thank goodness, I was afraid he'd get through the inning in less than 10 pitches.
  14. Soriano looked absolutely ridiculous.
  15. I'll say two misplays, but he probably wont get two errors.
  16. Does anybody else think Quade kinda looks like Death?
  17. If you have an XM subscription, I think I remember something about being able to stream stuff through their site.
  18. I have a bad feeling about every game. I get that same feeling - must be just a holdover from last year. Has anybody mentioned that according to Gameday the wind is blowing out to left at 20 mph? It also has DeRosa playing instead of Theriot.
  19. Hawk sounded like he was going to cry when he realized Michaels caught that. I love it.
  20. Disagree, I like Jones better against a RHP. vs. RHP Floyd: 2002 - .306/.420/.544 2003 - .305/.394/.535 2004 - .269/.373/.512 2005 - .290/.382/.533 2006 - .266/.342/.423 Career - .281/.368/.496 Jones: 2002 - .333/.372/.580 2003 - .317/.342/.492 2004 - .258/.310/.465 2005 - .268/.348/.466 2006 - .303/.358/.528 Career - .295/.343/.493 If you prefer Jones, I'm assuming you think Floyd is done after his injuries last year... because he's been obviously superior to Jones against righties for his career and in the recent past. If they are healthy, there is absolutely no question that Floyd is likely to be much better against RHP.
  21. Elsewhere, in the White Sox - Indians game, Aardsma came into the game with the bases juiced and nobody out. He struck out the side to get out of it without allowing any runs. But at least we've got Neal Cotts.
  22. I don't mean to sound like Dusty, but Floyd is just too damn slow for the 2 spot. is there some event i'm not aware of where the 2 spot hitters compete in a 100 meter dash or something? why does it matter if the 2 hitter is fast? he won't be doing any running in front of lee and ramirez. i'm fine with theriot starting, but i wish it was at the expense of izturis instead of derosa. I didn't say he had to be fast, I just think he shouldn't be slower than Barry Bonds. And that's mainly so he can get from first to home on a double, which I really don't think Floyd is capable of right now. In order to go from first to home on a double, one must get on first base beforehand. Floyd is much more likely to find himself in that situation.
  23. I don't mean to sound like Dusty, but Floyd is just too damn slow for the 2 spot. Considering the relative lack of singles and walks from Soriano, I'd say there probably isn't a better place in the lineup to put him. It would minimize the incidence of GIDP out of him, helping to maximize his value to the team.
  24. Personally, I'd flip-flop Jones and Floyd. I don't know why people would rather have Theriot batting second than Jones, though. Honestly, if you have to choose one player to give the possible extra plate appearance to, I'd rather it be the one that's more likely to produce. Like it or not, Jones is still a better hitter than Theriot.
