  1. Vizquel and Durham. Damn home run hurts.
  2. I think that's more of a knock on Clint Hurdle and his Steve Finley fetish than anything else.
  3. Bonds isn't playing. Bonds isn't playing, and they just did a 5 minute Barry intro. I think that rises to the level of a  Well, certainly wouldn't be appropriate. Everybody knew it was coming, despite the stupidity of it.
  4. You can thank me and UMFan for starting the game threads. I'll wait until the end of the season to see if you're still making them before I thank you.
  5. Bonds isn't playing. WHAAA? Hamels is left-handed, genius. And Lincecum has to prove he can win without Barry to be accepted as a member of the AARP.
  6. Basing your decision on the last 250 PA by Theriot may be a bit foolish considering his minor league track record. Yes, I realize that he fairly recently stopped switch hitting, but absolutely nothing in his track record suggests he's a .300 hitter... most projection systems see him hitting in the .260 to .270 range with no power. I have no problem riding him while he's hot, but at some point he will turn back into a pumpkin. At that point, the difference in offense between Floyd/Murton and Theriot may very well justify the defensive downgrades when pitchers like Lilly and Hill are on the mound. Their high strikeout, flyball approach to pitching makes the defensive downgrades in the infield mean much, much less.
  7. I've got both Hamels and Lincecum on my fantasy team. I need them to combine for 11.2 IP, 9 K, and 1 W for me to pull off a come-from-behind victory. You can bet I'm paying real close attention to this game.
  8. If you'd rather decrease win expectancy slightly in order to allow the team to conform more closely to archaic and antiquated views about lineup construction, I suppose that's a tradeoff that you can decide whether you'd like to make. Personally, I will root for the team to win, even if it necessitates the employ of unconventional tactics.
  9. I'd be willing to put Soriano at 2B and move DeRosa to SS when we have a flyball pitcher like Hill or Lilly on the mound. Their positive offensive impact would probably outweigh any defensive concerns in that case.
  10. I really can't think of a single game we won after you posted that. So stop.
  11. On the plus side of things, it's gonna be real interesting to see what Lou does here.
  12. Damnit. Well, Jacque... it's time to be a hero.
  13. Aramis is either gonna hit a dinger here or he's gonna GIDP... cause we all know he can't just hit a sac fly. The Cubs don't win by one run.
  14. Great approach, Sori... Cordero can barely throw a strike, so you swing at the first two pitches.
  15. Odds are much higher Lou just puts Marquis at 2nd.
  16. Looks like you're gonna get your wish.
