  1. 13 game hitting streak, been on every game so far this year.
  2. STOP FREAKING RUNNING WITH OUR BIG BATS UP!!!
  3. Theriot never even takes the bat off his shoulders.
  4. Real tight strike zone being called today.
  5. If this isn't optimism, I don't know what is. Isn't Patterson having a pretty good yea? Not this year.
  6. I agree, what a bonehead decision. Cost us the game today. :? We won some games with Dusty coaching too. Doesn't mean he made nothing but good decisions in those. Edit: I am upset I haven't seen Lou get tossed yet, though.
  7. I don't remember it last year... but even at that, he only hit 14 dingers all of last year. He might be falling off the cliff.
  8. I'd argue that there was no fleecing involved in the first trade, and I don't like the second trade for you at all. But your team is still awesome. I didn't mean to imply I fleeced a guy on the second trade. I see Hall as a minor upgrade over Guillen... and at the time I had to free up a roster spot when I thought King Felix was coming off the DL in a couple days. I realized I was overpaying, but I didn't care much. The Berkman trade is certainly a fleecing though. Berkman is a first/second round talent. I got him for my 8th round pick (Sheff) and a guy I picked up off the waiver wire during a hot streak.
  9. This seems to be fairly on topic... I already had Pujols and Hafner on my team. A week or so ago I fleeced a guy in my league... I got Uggla and Berkman for Kelly Johnson and Gary Sheffield... and Bill Hall for Carlos Guillen and Jered Weaver (I needed to clear a roster spot at the time) Now I've got a more fair trade up that's damn close to being accepted... I'd get Arod and Scott Kazmir for Jake Peavy and Ben Sheets (this guy's pitching is horrible and he has Zimmerman on the bench to cover for Arod in his already ridiculously strong offense). And I just found out my waiver claim on BJ Upton is likely to go through. This would be my team: (standard h2h, but with IP and OBP added) C - Ramon Hernandez 1B - Pujols 2B - Upton SS - Bill Hall 3B - ARod LF - Dunn CF - Chris B. Young RF - Berkman UTIL - Hafner SP - King Felix SP - Rich Hill SP - Scott Kazmir RP - Trevor Hoffman P - J.J. Putz P - Chien-Ming Wang Bench - Alex Gordon Bench - Roger Clemens DL - Phil Hughes I'd need to drop Gordon for another P, obviously... and that pitching staff in general is looking kinda weak. But that offense should win every single week by a good margin. 4 man keeper league too... I'll have to trade Berkman since he wont be RF eligible next year... but that would leave me with Pujols, ARod, Hafner, and King Felix as keepers. Nice, eh?
  10. Why would you move the guy with the .483 OBP down in the order? If anything he goes higher up. Lee is pretty much the perfect #2 hitter right now. That would get him a few extra PA over the course of the season from his current #3 slot... and his 1.000+ OPS demands all the plate appearances he can muster.
  11. Contraction wouldn't solve a bloody thing. We complain too much as is about good ballplayers not getting jobs at the major league level. Reducing the job pool would only exacerbate the situation.
  12. When you mention that Upton, Kinsler, and Kendrick were on the waiver wire, it becomes one.

  14. http://www.fangraphs.com/lgraphs/270502123_Cubs_Pirates_6273976_lbig.png We better win this.
  15. No. The White Sox only have 28 doubles. Darn. I was hoping for an early season fluke because of the small sample size so far.
  16. Does DLee have more doubles than any teams?
  17. C'mon... sit Wuertz down and give him a couple days in a row off. This is a perfect opportunity to bring in Cherry.
  18. Some low strikes being called today...
  19. Mordecai Brown didn't do too badly for us after starting his career with the Cards. http://www.baseball-reference.com/b/brownmo01.shtml
  20. It'd be pretty early for the Cubs to get a complete game after watching how long we waited last season.
  21. Soriano gets picked off for the umpteen millionth time.
  22. DLee hasn't had a double in like 3 PA now. He's due.
  23. Just a couple pitches ago.
