  1. If anybody has tickets to the June 4th Yankees - White Sox game, you need to take a "Fire Dusty" sign.
  2. Why wouldn't he?
  3. I should hope so. People see a young lefty that's been just good enough to make it to the big leagues. With any luck they don't see the injury concerns and the low ceiling. With the way people over value lefties, his perceived value is probably a lot higher than his actual value.
  4. Where did goony post in this thread? I thought he got banned. He wasn't banned. The good twin just killed the evil one.
  5. Have you ever had a measured reaction to anything? They called up Pagan because they assume he will hit LHP because he is a switch hitter yet was horrible vs. lefties last season. Again I say, this organization is a complete joke. I'll take that as a no. Please, inform me and my un-measured reaction, why calling up Pagan is a good move? He hits LHP no better than Pie, and is fraction of the defensive player that Pie is. If Pagan hit LHP well than I could see it. The key to the move is sending Pie back to AAA to play everyday. Pagan is far from ideal. But Pie had to get off the bench. Of course. There is no reason to have the Cubs best prospect sitting on the bench when he needs to be getting regular at bats. He was clearly overmatched at the plate at the major league level so starting him regularly would have hurt the team. Pagan is going to be a part time player and like you said, he has hit LHP pretty well in AAA this year. It's the right move to make. I don't think you can say Pie was "clearly overmatched" when the only thing clear was that he wasn't getting enough PA to get going. I think he wasn't ready. He took one walk in 49 at bats. He was doing well in this regard in AAA and then when he was called up he regressed considerably. It's a small sample size, but he was really bad when he was here. I'm not gonna debate that Pie was not looking great in his limited playing time. He wasn't. But jumping to the majors is just like jumping from A to AA or AA to AAA... there's an adjustment period involved. The guys who burst onto the scene as fully formed major leaguers are few and far between, guys like Miguel Cabrera and Albert Pujols. For everybody else, it takes a while to make the adjustment. Pie simply wasn't getting enough PA to get it done.
  6. Theriot singles up the middle. A runner on with 2 outs for DLee.
  7. One in a million!! About 13 in 100, really.

  9. What do you want to bet Lou tries something stupid here?
  10. It's a late game, it's still somewhat close... why are we batting Blanco?
  11. http://www.fangraphs.com/lgraphs/270510116_Pirates_Cubs_8313941_lbig.png Cubs' chances aren't looking too great.
  12. Ahem..... It's still bad...lol Yes, but it's moved up from abject misery-inspiring
  13. You've got more to apologize for than that, son.
  14. Hey, guess what player ranked immediately behind Murton in GB/FB ratio last year in all the NL? Jacque Jones. I guess he becomes a light hitting OF too... since your only qualification for that seems to be that he "can't hit past the infield." And his arm is too inaccurate to be a RF and his range is too poor to be a CF. That pretty much means he can't play anything else besides LF. Just ask any Twins scout. Did I say anything about Jacque Jones dickwad? Jones at least has some HR power and is better defensively in RF. He can actually get to the balls and catch them. yea, his arm Sox. If it was up to me, I'd get another RF. But Murton isn't the answer. Yes, you did; The uncalled for slavery comments.

Just ask any Twins scout. This argument would play a lot better if Jacque didn't hit around 25 HR a year, and play RF almost exclusively his last two years in Minnesota. Every scout says that if Murton decides to add some loft to his swing he's gonna be good for 30 dingers a year. And I don't think anybody here would argue Murton is a RF just because that's where he's gonna play with Soriano in left for the next 8 years. Playing RF doesn't necessarily make you a legitimate RF... Jacque's arm was just better than Shannon Stewart's...

  17. It's a freaking error. Everybody has them. Shameless? The only thing shameless is your blatant selective perception.
  18. THANK YOU. Holy... You mean, there's actually another person on this board that realizes Soriano playing out of position isn't helping the team?
  19. Unless he's Bonds, being big doesn't make taking a baseball off the back of the head any easier. I didn't complain that much when I was hit with a bat. hard to complain when you're unconcious A magician never reveals his secrets. For fear of being banned by the alliance? If that happens I'll just have to make an album with Franklin. Either that or take part in a series of escalating dares and get married to Amy Poehler. Plus there's always GOBIAS, Inc I just spent all of March rewatching my Arrested Development DVDs... but I'm getting a real urge to start back over with Season one later today.
  20. That error hurts. Once again, I find myself wondering what possible reason Lou has for playing our LF in RF, and a person whose skillset matches that of a RF in LF.
