  1. Two run shot by David Wright. I have a feeling our bullpen is gonna be the deciding factor in this game.
  2. But then you don't get to see Erin Andrews. Always a nice plus. :D If you like Erin Andrews, you'll love this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIP7a9Z-YBM Did she ever sue that kid with the wandering hands? We settled out of court. 8-[
  3. Pitch counts through 3 IP: Glavine - 54 Marquis - 42

  7. Only while Theriot is hot. Once he cools off, move him down to the bottom and move every other player up a spot.
  8. Glavine with 43 pitches through 2 innings.
  9. The victims weren't really starting the brawl, but yeah, you're thinking of the right thing. People were up in the bleachers fighting and tumbling down onto the people in the rows lower than them... considering how many people were fighting, it was really quite dangerous. The funny part was that Jackson was upset about them getting suspended and expelled from school... not about some criminal charges. He was organizing sit-ins and all sorts of crap about how the videotape was racist or some asinine thing until the city council had him cuffed, thrown in the back of a paddy wagon, and turned lose outside the city with a deal that said they'd drop the charges if he'd stay the hell away from Decatur. It was the first time I was truly proud of the town... its Midwestern values had kicked Jesse Jackson in the crotch. Bah, I can't even smell it anymore. I don't even live there, but I guess I was so used to the smell that even return trips don't get to me. Although for what it's worth, the smell is getting legitimately better. ADM is turning into a real powerhouse company, and they're doing a heckuva lot more about the smell than they used to. I worked for them all summer and only noticed a bit of a stench at a few locations, but nothing like the nauseating "hold your breath on the way through" stench of five or ten years ago. It was.
  10. Jesse Jackson isn't allowed back in my good old hometown of Decatur, IL anymore. The city council banned him.
  11. I just saw what happened and was looking to bump this thread.
  12. Yeah, that'd probably be a steal for you too. I'm a big Sheets fan, and same with Upton. Either one could prove to be keeper-worthy.
  13. Soriano isn't guaranteed another at bat, but only one person needs to get on in the next two innings for him to get one.
  14. I'm still not convinced Jim Bowden didn't hire Lenny Harris just to keep him close to the team so that he can be added to the 40 man roster in September for the pennant race.
  15. I understand why SD/Colorado would pass on him, given that he is, but nearly all accounts, a butcher in the field. But given that AL teams have been starting guys like Jay Gibbons, Mike Sweeney, Shea Hillenbrand, Mike Redmond and Jose Vidro -- many of whom are overpaid in addition to being unproductive -- how is it that no team thought to give a chance to a guy with a career .429 OBP and 943 OPS in the minors? He had only about 170 major league PAs, for God's sakes! The dangers of groupthink.
  16. Standard roto categories? I'd pull the trigger on that one. Gordon is looking like he'll end up getting a 3-4 week demotion at some point, and Theriot vs OCab is about a wash. Sheets is worth the risk on Gordon.
  17. Jack Cust is just another data point to counter the argument that a player isn't big league caliber just because it seems every GM is passing on him.
  18. I caught a bit of the game on the radio on the way from the sis's graduation to the restaurant. The part I caught was the Jacque Jones double to bring in two, then getting gunned at the plate on the DeRosa single. Then I heard that Ohman was being brought in to the game... Did he blow it, or did someone else?
  19. Bring a radio... But graduations are really boring. I nearly fell asleep at my own. I've got my Delphi MyFi XM radio... but it doesn't get good reception inside. And I don't have any other thing I could use... I'll get to watch about half an hour, though.
  20. I'm not gonna be able to watch most of the game. Stupid sister has to graduate... it's not like she even needs the MBA.
  21. But why would they need an excuse to do that? All four are better players than Encarnacion. Since when is Freel better than Encarnacion? Encarnacion was better last year than Freel has ever been. That's without even comparing their relative upsides and ages. Foolish move. And yet, it is completely expected from Narron and Krivsky. What do you want to bet the paint in Krivsky's office is lead-based?
