  1. Wow, did the ump actually call a strike? I didn't think he was allowed to do that for Lilly.
  2. Guzman needs to keep starting. I don't understand the Guzman for reliever suggestions. Guzman has a helluva lot more talent than Sean Marshall. my guzman for reliever suggestion stems from the ML leading 11 losses by our worthless bullpen. I agree he has a world of talent and will probably can be a really good starter. However, he's been just as good if not better as a reliever, why not have him sure up a few victories? just a suggestion, i won't be upset either way as long as he pitches regularly, whether it be starting or relief. Because a good starter is always more valuable than a good reliever?
  3. That's a pretty good start to the inning.
  4. Lilly is getting squeezed real hard by the home plate ump.
  5. Just so long as the surprise isn't something stupid like making Z the closer...
  6. Why waste a pinch hitter, right? I mean, really. If the Mets score 9 to tie this game back up we might need Murton later.
  7. I love the fact they leave Z in to bat.
  8. Lou does not trust the bullpen. You'd think carrying all these damned extra relievers would give him a few more he'd be comfortable with. The team dropped down to 11 today-that probably is in the back of his mind. Z needs to come out-now. Earl Weaver used to use 9 or 10 man pitching staffs and a 4 man rotation. Then again, Earl Weaver is probably the best manager of all time...

  10. more like self-lobotomy time Way ahead of you. I already sterilized the eggbeater. Fancy boy, a 2x4 will do the trick. I prefer the power drill Incidentally, I thought Pi was a really crappy movie.
  11. I'd let him finish the inning, just for his confidence. Edit: I might let him bat next inning too, but just for fun.

  13. And Jacque with the double! 9-1
  14. Quade got real lucky on that one...
  15. I still can't believe he murdered that one so badly. That thing was absolutely crushed.
  16. 7-1 Aramis hit a grand slam.
  17. I'd want the best hitter on the team... so Lee, then Ramirez, then Soriano. Well, I was operating under the assumption we were just working with the guys available today.
  18. They really need to show another replay.
  19. Funny story, when Len and Bob were saying that the person that they'd want coming up with the bases loaded was Soriano, I was thinking to myself that I'd rather have Aramis up.
  20. Mixed bag. Z is performing well enough, but not one run through 5 innings well. And his new mechanics aren't looking too healthy. The offense is hitting pretty well, but we aren't scoring many runs. Still, we're up 3-1
  21. Would somebody be so kind as to explain to me why people call the Cubs the Cobs? It doesn't seem like an insult... at least not a good one. So I just don't get it. NSBB lore. Somebody long ago ranted about them and accidentally spelled it Cobs, and it stuck. Ahhh. I'm still not used to being a relative noob here, I guess.
