    For anybody who was wondering... http://www.baseball-reference.com/pi/bsplit.cgi?n1=gwynnto01&year=00 Tony Gwynn had the most PA at the 3rd spot in the order, and posted the highest OPS there.

    Please continue to talk crap about him. Hopefully he'll shut you up again. He'll do his usual 1 good AB where he hits a HR, then strike out on 7 total pitches in his next 3 ABs. I'm really tired of watching him swing at everything. He watched 2 pitches for strikes. Never let the facts get in the way of good hyperbole.

    Being better than Dusty Baker doesn't make Lou a good manager. The truth is, if any of us were as bad at our jobs as he is at his, we'd be getting canned immediately.

    Can't disagree, but I'd rather see him get a few days of rest during the Break.... Agreed. Considering the load he's catching right now... I'm real worried about his performance at the end of the season. I hope Lou wises up and rests him a bit more often.

    Guy completely washes out as a pitcher despite all the talent in the world... takes a bunch of HGH, comes back to the majors as a hitter, and we're supposed to be rooting for the guy? Calling it a Disney story? Puhleaze.

    I must apologize to everybody but we got the call from Sean about 1:30 this morning. Sean told me I couldn't report it as you all know what happened last time!!!! [-X I know Sean is looking forward to today as I spoke with him early this morning but I haven't heard anything about the Cubs plans for him. I know that he will do whatever it takes to help this team and must say again that his parents are so proud of him......... \:D/ No offense intended, obviously... but I really wish your son wasn't coming up under these circumstances.

    Who should he start over? The guy who's been on base 7 times the last 3 games, or the guy who's been on base 8 times the last 3 games? You do realize Cedeno has been on 4 times in the last 3 games... and he only got into two of those, both times as a pinch hitter.

    Honest question... is Theriot doing anything better than Cedeno right now? Am I just overlooking something?

    Cedeno is hitting for a higher average with more power. He's drawing walks more frequently. He's playing better defense, and not screwing up constantly on the basepaths. I appreciate that Theriot has been hitting the ball well. But he hasn't done it well enough to warrant keeping his job when we have an option who is better in every conceivable fashion right now. It's just tough luck.

    Quade sent him on the first one. And you have to believe he was going on first movement there at the behest of the coaching staff. Theriot made his own bad decision today. Let's not pretend otherwise.

    He's hit the ball well ALL year. No one wants to admit it and it's kinda of lame how much the Theriot haters want him to fail, just so they are proven correct. He's been hitting very well compared to what we could expect of him. But that's only good enough to make him Henry Blanco to Ronny Cedeno's Geovany Soto.

    I heard Cedeno played CF in winter ball. A bit. Though I understand the transition didn't go particularly well...

    I think Theriot may be trying too hard to make things happen on the basepaths because he's worried about losing his job.
