  1. Ojeda can't get the job done. Stephen Drew stepping up to the plate as the only thing between the Brewers and a win.
  2. D'Backs up trailing 3-4 in the top of the 9th. 1 out, and the bases juiced with Augie Ojeda stepping up to the plate. Elsewhere, the Pirates have taken the lead and are beating the Cards 5-4 going into the bottom of the 9th.
  3. Braun up with the bases juiced and 1 out in a tie game in the 7th...
  4. you did I still don't see it. Must be one of the folks I have on ignore.
  5. I don't know if I just missed it or what, but here's your starting lineups. LF - Soriano SS - Theriot 1B - Lee 3B - Ramirez RF - Fukudome CF - Edmonds 2B - DeRosa C - Blanco P - Zambrano CF - Gerut 2B - Iguchi RF - Giles 1B - Gonzalez 3B - Kouzmanoff C - Barrett SS - Greene LF - McAnulty P - Baek
  6. I wouldn't be so sure, the farm system is looking pretty deep and there is going to be a lot of money coming off the books in the next 2 years. The Cardinals payroll is pretty much 60 million right now. What is particularly deep about your farm system?
  7. We have plenty of guys with huge ceilings. The problem is more about the holes in their game.
  8. For the Cubs, sticking at second is the only requirement to being viewed as a significant prospect.
  9. Not the first time I've seen Cole to the Cubs. He'd be a good high risk/high reward pick. Crawford...eh. I doubt he goes sandwich but the last 2 weeks have been amazing for him - he's been taking pitches, making much better contact and (unsurprisingly) has gone on a tear. Another BB today, hit a triple and went oppo field for a HR too. He's got a double, a triple, 2 HRs, 2 BBs and is hitting somewhere around .500 in the regionals, playing his usual good defense. I really would like him after the 2nd round. Good for him. Last I'd heard, he had dropped into the 3rd or 4th.
  10. Just wait until the Pirates call up McCutchen. Yeesh. Who's a scary young talent with the Astros? Seriously... that system is devoid of talent.
  11. And both Brownlie and Johnson had a prior history of arm problems. With the two guys this year (Cashner and Fields) that may be avaiable at 19, they have very impressive mechanics, and neither throw across their bodies. Heck in Cashner's case, he has only pitched 50 innings this year! Both of the arms are very fresh, and Fields's Slurve is almost unhittable. I'm just saying, I think passing on both of these guys would be a mistake. If we could get a starter, I would complain less about picking a college arm in the 1st... but if we actually used our pick to grab a reliever, that might be one of the worst decisions we could possibly make... For the record, in terms of people who might be available, these are the guys I'd be going after. Hosmer (obviously) Hicks Casey Kelly Gerrit Cole Jake O I don't hate a Lawrie pick, but it certainly wouldn't be the way I'd go.
  12. Barry Bonds
  13. Absolutely not. The O's would come out asking for Hill+ based on his potential, and completely ignore th huge risks associated with him.
  14. MLBAM would be a good place to start looking.
  15. Coming into tonight, Soriano had a higher VORP than Fukudome, despite having significantly fewer PA. Granted, that doesn't cover the difference in their defensive value... but damn.
  16. The Yankees don't play their best SS at SS either. You wanna argue with all their rings? And since they've played him away from SS, no rings. LOGIC WAR. I wouldn't recommend it. I declared war on logic once, and now my apartment looks like an M.C. Escher painting.
  17. It wasn't a hit and run. DLee was under no obligation to swing at anything he thought was a ball.
  18. What are the odds that Theriot gets caught stealing during Fukudome's AB?
  19. i honestly think joe morgan is better than sutcliffe I was going to say that but I didn't know if I was going too far. Just avoid the cancer jokes. Everything else is game with Sutcliffe.
  20. Edmonds sitting against a right hander... that's the beginning of the end for his tenure.
  21. Do you not listen to him suggest a bunt or a hit and run every inning?
  22. Is the Comcast HD feed a little off for anybody else? It doesn't really look HD.
