  1. Everybody here could stand to develop some patience.
  2. update: people still don't like you more later More later? I think that pretty well sums it up. It's amazing how a guy who was banned for mocking the site then let back in on probation is allowed to openly mock the rest of the board by bragging how he has most of it on ignore. He should have that probation revoked. Oh, and if he's got the time to add 40 pages of foes, he can take his time and read the damned thread. Everyone else stop giving him summaries. Take your righteous indignation and try to direct it at people who might care what you think.
  3. Same situation as last night, but Hendry has apparently made a bit of progress with Milton Bradley.
  4. Peavy doesn't want to go to the AL, IIRC. And I'm not too upset if the Brewers sink 25% of their annual payroll into Sabathia. If he gets injured, that would completely destroy their chances.
  5. Towers has said that it's all up to Jim now from his quotes yesterday and today, What's keeping him from pulling the trigger and being hesitant? Towers seems to want to get this done asap. Usually Hendry is real quick when it comes to getting a caliber player such as Peavy. There's nothing to indicate a deal is in place... just that Towers has said there's a group of players he'd accept. Hendry still would have to negotiate with other teams to acquire those players (most likely, find a package to acquire the right prospects from Philly) It's not as simple as "pulling the trigger"
  6. I doubt it, as Baseball Prospectus has plenty of traffic regardless. He's just not very good at reporting rumors. How could he report it differently? Responsibly... as in not posting the idiotic musings of a front office type from another organization with no real information.
  7. I won't mind rooting for Wood on the Indians. At least it's an AL team. :( One that routinely plays against the White Sox.
  8. I'd assume there's a fourth year vesting option?
  9. Like I said last night, DeRosa to Philly might mean Jason Donald goes to SD. Which keeps Cedeno for us as Fontenot's platoon partner.
  10. I doubt it, as Baseball Prospectus has plenty of traffic regardless. He's just not very good at reporting rumors.
  11. What rollercoaster? We're at the same place we were 3 hours ago when everyone was excited We get a report that says it's very close, then one that says it's not close at all, and it happens over and over and over. There's another one up on MLB Rumors that says it's very close again. Try not taking all of these conflicting reports at face value.
  12. This is a stupid semantic argument. My lolrus post added more to the conversation.
  13. Giles isn't going anywhere. He vetoed a few trades last season, including one to the Cubs, as I recall.
  14. isnt levinson ibanez's agent? can you confirm that they talked more about bradley than ibanez? because ibanez sucks That's not fair... It's not like he's in his late 30s, will cost over 10 mil a year, will forfeit our first round draft pick, sucks horribly in the field, and only has an average bat.
  15. and vitters, derosa, marshall and cedeno is quite a bit to give up for him We could pull a spare prospect from the Phils to help it out a bit. Heitor Correa, maybe?
  16. Josh Vitters, Sean Marshall, J.A. Happ, and Ronny Cedeno seems like a very solid return for Jake Peavy.
  17. Who the hell uses RC/25? RC/27
  18. How do you figure? We've been spending all this time trying to grab spare pitching to add to Marshall, as I understood it.
  19. What do we do when our bullpen comes in? Soriano --> 2B, Cajuns --> SS, Kosuke --> LF Brilliant!
  20. This guy's thoughts deserve discussion or at least validation. Ummm the Phillies said they wouldn't even give up Donald for Delmon Young. He's not goin anywhere. I saw somewhere that Jack Wilson was being considered a big piece in a trade for Delmon Young. Young has about as much value as Rich Hill right now. DeRosa might very well be worth more to the Phillies than Young, especially factoring in his likely Type A status after next season if he qualifies primarily as a 2B.
  21. What do we do when our bullpen comes in?
  22. He was below average at 3B. You know he can't handle short.
  23. This guy's thoughts deserve discussion or at least validation.
