Josh Vitters, Sean Marshall, J.A. Happ, and Ronny Cedeno seems like a very solid return for Jake Peavy.

This guy's thoughts deserve discussion or at least validation. Ummm the Phillies said they wouldn't even give up Donald for Delmon Young. He's not goin anywhere. I saw somewhere that Jack Wilson was being considered a big piece in a trade for Delmon Young. Young has about as much value as Rich Hill right now. DeRosa might very well be worth more to the Phillies than Young, especially factoring in his likely Type A status after next season if he qualifies primarily as a 2B.

Getting DeRosa would make Jason Donald expendable to Philly, and I'd think he'd be heading to SD in place of Ronny Cedeno. Nothing really to back that up, but moving DeRosa just might keep Ronny Cedeno around.

Do we have two Marshalls? :P You forgot about the little known Steve Marshall, a PTBL in the Neifi Perez trade. I thought all we got from that trade was Chris Robinson... and not having Neifi anymore.

Then you and I are on the same-ish page. I was thinking 5 to 15 runs. Dangit! Quit talking about that here! :D If you'd give my fanclub its own forum, we wouldn't have this issue. I always read the post before looking to see who posted it (and I don't have any images turned on)... I thought for sure this was a post from meph. No offense to either of you, of course. :D Meph's fanclub already has its own part of the forum, and nobody ever posts there.

Vitters, Marshall, and Ronny are almost certainly involved in any trade. Looking at the farms systems for the other potential teams, Wellington Castillo is probably gone too.

It wouldn't shock me to see Hendry pull a disappointing prospect out of another club. Don't expect any major league pieces or minor league blue-chippers, though.

The announcement isn't that a deal is done, or that anything is really agreed to. All he's saying is "if you can get me players A, B, C, D, and E, then Peavy is all yours."
