Dick Stockton said that Edmonds told Tom Verducci he was fine. It was precautionary. Or, Edmonds told Verducci that the dingo ate his baby. Verducci told this to Stockton. And, Stockton informed the viewing audience that Edmonds will be fine.

Gammons thinks Derek Lowe is still on the Red Sox. This is probably Lowe's best season since his big 02 season with the Sox. Can't take anything away from Lowe. He's been good. But, he's like anyone else on the road.

Stockton could do the Boston series as well. He announced for the Red Sox in the 70's and is forever famous for the Fisk call. Whatever happened to Sean McDonough doing playoff baseball ? He was one of the best back when CBS did playoff baseball. -

Atlanta is really the only place that makes much sense right now. KC, Cincy, and St. Louis are all in line for rain through the weekend. Atlanta will be hot, but the forecast is pretty clear and hot through through Sunday. -

Latest models bring the storm in between Corpus Christi and Galveston (most models take it right into Corpus). It is a large (surface area) storm and should make landfall overnight Friday. Each successive model run brings the storm further north and east. I will always remember the weekend series I attended in 2001. It was the crazy Colorado series and was extremely hot. Matt Stairs came out to take BP in a parka. It was hilarious. Hopefully Matt helps the Phillies past NYM.

Agreed. Edmonds, in a way, reminds me of Gary Gaetti in 1998. Both 39, both get a shot in the arm playing for a good team and produce above and beyond expectations. Edmonds is a great story, but he's not going to produce at nearly the rate he has this season. Sign Reed Johnson to a 2-year deal and let Pie play.
