  1. They said on the pregame show that Montanez is the first Chiefs player to be named to the Futures game ... there have been ex-Chiefs players, but no active Chiefs.

  4. Gallagher faced Kane County in back-to-back starts in early May. May 1: 6IPs, 0R/0ER, 0 hits, 10Ks/2BBs , No-D (no-hitter lost in 9th, Chiefs won 1-0) May 6: 6IPs, 1R/0ER, 2 hits, 4Ks/3BBs, No-D (Chiefs won) That was during the no-earned-runs streak. Padron had both KCO hits (2 singles). As Nate Baliva posted in the other thread, the pregame interview will be Luis Montanez.
  5. In looking through the other replacements for players who have either been promoted or injured since being named, it doesn't look like the original player's organization automatically gets to choose a replacement.
  6. Good for him! I was wondering how the replacement for Pie would be named. That should make him and Herrerra the two MWL players in the game.
  7. Thanks so much for answering questions! How did the Peoria franchise change from Cardinals to Cubs affect you? What changes have you noticed since the switch? What's the most memorable game you've broadcast? Thanks!
  8. Chiefs lose on an unearned run in the 10th inning for the second day in a row. Fuld's hit streak ends.
  9. well, leadoff Cougars hitter walks there's a ball thrown away and a passed ball and the Cougars score. 3-2 Cougars to the bottom of the 10th.
  10. Bottom of the 9th in Peoria, tie game. Luis Montanez hit his 12th HR (solo shot). He also doubled "what a surprise." Sounds like Drew Larsen has had a nice game so far -- on base 4 times. He was hit by a pitch for the 16th time this season. The franchise record is 23. Sparkling D, including an 8-3-5 putout at 3rd. HAHA Larsen walks Bernard Ks trying to sac bunt. :x
  11. Nate Baliva says that Vince Coleman is in Peoria this week working with the team (and Eric Patterson just stole his 24th base in the bottom of the first). Andy MacPhail is also in attendance.
  12. Welcome to the forums. Feel free to voice your opinions, but please remember that name-calling isn't welcome here. Thanks.
  13. Hmm, can't remember him. Of course, that's just because all of the Cougars seemed to have at least 2 hits by the time I left in the 5th so nobody stood out on that team. He went 4-6 with a HR and 5 RBIs in the blowout game. :( He was picked off a couple of times, though, which seems to happen to him a lot (vs the Chiefs, anyway). CS: Herrera, J (3, 2nd base by Johnson/Rick). PO: Herrera, J (1st base by Johnson).
  14. Javier Herrera of Kane County was the replacement OFer named to the Futures Game - World Team (too bad Pie won't be back in time :( ). Looks like he's the only MWL player in the game.
  15. OOPS! http://www.whatifsports.com/forums/smileys/smiley9.gif I fixed it.
  16. BTW, Ricky Nolasco was named MiLB.com's Star of the Day for Monday. :)
  17. This thread is gospel. It's not changing. GO CUBS!
  18. It still says "rain delay" on comcast. I don't know why I checked.
  19. I was just flipping through the channels a few moments ago, and Dan Plesac was explaining why he didn't think it would be a good idea for the Cubs to lose the rest of the games before the All-Star break.
