  1. Alfredo-Francisco-the-3Bman played a few games at 3B for the Chiefs earlier this year.
  2. Rain delay in Kane County. ETA: Estimated start time 7:15. Hope everyone who got there early is prepared for a long evening! :) The Chiefs web page says that Sisk was promoted to West Tennessee. This sorta sounds familiar:
  3. The Chiefs website is down. :x I guess I can try listening in through the Kane County website if it's not up by this evening. I can't pick up the Kane County radio station where I live.
  4. Jesse Estrada (#41) if you see him during warmups. :)
  5. There was a period at the end of the initial link that made it not work. That one should work correctly. Oops! It was my first time posting something through there. I edited my post so the link should work there. Of course, I got the idea of posting it there from you. :)
  6. Sam Fuld is just on fire now, too. 15-game hitting streak, and I think they said he was 14 for his last 27. He and Eric are making a nice combo for the Chiefs at the top of the lineup right now. There was a feature article on him yesterday in the Peoria paper. Fuld caught the first pitches when Holden was in Peoria; he was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes when he was 10.
  7. Patterson doubles again in the bottom of the 8th and makes a sparkling defensive play to end the game. 12-3 Chiefs. The Kane County stadium is nice, and it's been packed both times I've attended. FYI -- the stadium gun is a couple of ticks slow, so don't be alarmed by lower readings. :)
  8. Nate Boliva passed along a brief update on Alberto Garcia: he's rehabbing in Mesa and just working on maintaining his upper body strength. The Eric Patterson interview is up in mp3 format for download at http://s41.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3CADX2FJECQUR3D2S43BTDDAV2 It's ~4:40 and ~4.4mps. A Patterson sac fly ties the game at 1 in the bottom of the 3rd.
  9. Not so far this season. VS AB H K BB AVG OBP SLG OPS lefties 68 13 20 3 .191 .225 .309 .534 righties 233 59 58 13 .253 .293 .416 .709 He did last year. vs AVG OBP SLG OPS lefties .289 .328 .491 .819 righties .258 .317 .437 .754 He didn't hit better against lefties in 2002 and 2003, and thus far in 2005. I did enjoy telling people last year that he hit better vs lefties. Wish that could have lasted. 3-year splits VS AB H K BB AVG OBP SLG OPS lefties 412 104 108 13 .252 .284 .403 .687 righties 1140 312 279 66 .274 .316 .455 .771
  10. Not so far this season. VS AB H K BB AVG OBP SLG OPS lefties 68 13 20 3 .191 .225 .309 .534 righties 233 59 58 13 .253 .293 .416 .709
  11. Did Polanco start any games for Peoria other than the second game of the recent doubleheader? I posted this in yesterday's game thread, but Eric Patterson will be interviewed on the pre-game show for the Chiefs at 6 pm tomorrow. yeah baby!
  12. Has anyone other than Dubois/Holla started in LF this season? Has Blanco caught games other than Prior, Z for a few starts, and Maddux in interleague play? But of course! :D GO CUBS!
  13. Ya know, one of the most interesting quotes here hasn't been mentioned, even though this is bordering on an old story now. I never really bought into this notion that Corey suddenly decided to bat leadoff a month ago (or whatever) after he came to spring training early to work on his hitting and had a lot of time with Coleman there, etc. It just seemed like another batting order cover story. I don't why there needs to be vast conspiracies having to do with the Cubs batting order, but apparently there are. I blame Dusty.
  14. So I'm told that Dusty was asked during the post-game show how much longer Corey would continue to bat lead-off, and Dusty responded, "Until I get a lead-off hitter."
  15. Chiefs win 8-7 with a walk-off RBI double by Eric Patterson that drove in Sam Fuld with the winning run. EPat hit 3rd today with Sam Fuld leading off. Blevins picks up the win after blowing the save in the top of 9th. Gallagher gives up 2 runs in 5 innings; both runs came in the second inning after he walked two and surrendered two singles. He didn't allow another baserunner after the 2nd, and -- other than the 3 singles, 2 of which were ground ball singles -- the ball didn't leave the infield. Only 1 K. Simokaitis picked up his first pro hit and first stolen base and started a critical double play in the top of the ninth to escape a bases-loaded one-out tie-game situation. Attention Eric Patterson fans: He will interviewed tomorrow on the pre-game radio show at 6 pm.
  16. For the Geneva games, it should be Monday: RHP Grant Johnson vs RHP Tony Evans (4-0, 1.32 ERA, 27.3 IPs) Tuesday: LHP Chris Shaver vs. RHP Ryan Ford (6-4, 4.89) and for the Peoria games: Wednesday: RHP Jesse Estrada vs. LHP Ryan Webb (3-6, 4.44) Thursday: RHP Sean Gallagher vs. RHP Mike Rogers (5-4, 4.03) Kane County's web page includes the pitching rotation for the current series. :)
  17. Jesse Schmidt picked up his first hit for the Chiefs.
