  1. Peoria game has been rained out.
  2. Still raining in Peoria, but there's some hope that the worst is past there now. If they are rained out, there would be a doubleheader tomorrow kicking off at 6pm. Grant Johnson has been scheduled to pitch tomorrow's game. They are still hoping to get the game in tonight, though.
  3. And I believe Len or Bob mentioned during his last start that no one has ever reached both milestones against the same opponent --- something Greg has a chance to do tonight. I didn't catch that... how awesome would that be? Incredibly awesome. I read somewhere (sorry, no link handy, I think it was one of the online Chicago papers) that Maddux would be only the 2nd pitcher with both achievements to record his 300th win before his 3,000th K; Walter Johnson being the first.
  4. Tarp is on the field in Peoria and it's still raining. Best-case scenario = 8 pm start right now. They're playing the HR Derby on the videoboard for the fans. Nomar is currently in the lineup batting 2nd & playing SS. No word yet on whether field conditions might result in Nomar switching to DH. EPat 2B Nomar SS Harvey RF Schmidt LF Flowers DH Fuld CF Rick C Smith 3B Larsen 1B Matt Weber P ETA: The game broadcast will pick back up at 7 for a status report and maybe even a guest.
  5. FYI - Gwaltney apparently pitched for Daytona tonight. Shaver hasn't arrived in Daytona yet, but Nathan has heard from several different people that Gwaltney would be promoted to West Tenn once Shaver does take the roster spot.
  6. I read somewhere that he was going to meet with team doctors in Chicago today -- he may be at Wrigley for the game tonight. He's expected to show up in Peoria tomorrow. ETA: Nathan will see if Nomar will agree to be interviewed on the pre-game show, which should kick off at 6:30 tomorrow night. They're expecting media overflow in Peoria, so they aren't sure what his availability will be. The broadcast link is on the Chiefs home page.
  7. Nathan says that Nomar is expected to play 5 innings tomorrow night.
  8. Billek with a solid debut -- 5 IPs, 5 hits, 1R/1ER, 4Ks/1BB. He took advantage of the triple play. :) 3-1 Chiefs to the 7th.
  9. Hope there's video on that (or put the call on the website!); sounds like that was an amazing catch by Schmidt.
  10. There's been some discussion about divvy-ing up Social. As you can probably tell from the responses, some people would like that; some think there are already too many forums/fora. :P Reportedly, a future software update will allow sub-forums within a forum, which isn't possible now. Maybe that would work.
  11. Visiting my brother and his family. :D He's lived here for the past couple of years and met his wife while teaching English here after college.
  12. There is usually an explanation provided either via posting or via PM if a post is modified or deleted. There obvious exception like multiple posts or posts that result in someone being banned (profanity-laden, whatever). Sometimes the glitches that people experience in the board carry also affect the mod interface.
  13. Sounds like it will be fun! Nathan, hope you have your email access up and running again now that you're home ... I bet you'll get a few emails this week. :)
  14. It is nice to hear -- and Montanez is putting up some nice numbers in West Tennessee so far, too. :)
  15. The Peoria matchup should be RH Mike Billek (0-1, 2.65 ERA for Boise Hawks) vs. LH Juan Frias (0-1, 5.68 ERA)
  16. i've been to 14 chiefs games, and seen him homer all of once. i could cancel you out, dont hate me if i do Maybe having seen the HR Derby will change your Harvey HR luck. 8)
  17. Yep, Nathan mentioned both starting pitchers having some problems with footing out there. Fuld walks, EPat singles, Ryan Harvey with an RBI fielders choice groundout, 6-1 Lugnuts.
  18. Maybe they've been watching the clips of the groundscrew in Florida! It sounds like they're wading through mud in Lansing. Gallagher only lasts an inning and two-thirds, gives up 5 walks, 3 Ks, 6 runs (3 on an inside-the-park HR as Fuld slips, slams into the wall, and then falls down going for a ball over his head, but stays in the game), 5 hits, 62 pitches. Gallagher leaves with 2 outs and the bases loaded. Mike Jones in for the Chiefs. Gallagher's ERA to 2.40 as Jones gets a K for the 3rd out.
  19. Sounds like it was a mistake to get the game going at all ... Nathan also said in the broadcast that Lee Gwaltney was promoted from Daytona to the DJaxx.
  20. Yes, for the time being. My Japanese sister-in-law makes life here a little easier than it was for Bill or Scarlett, though. :) RH Sean Gallagher (10-3, 1.95 ERA) vs. RH Russ Savickas (4-3, 4.98 ERA)
  21. Estrada was hit by a line drive and had to leave the game. Hope he's ok. :( From the Chiefs web page: Some better news: Sam Fuld (CF) and Eric Patterson (2B) - The Chiefs top two hitters in the lineup combined to go 6-for-9 with three runs scored, three RBI, a double and a home run. Fuld has been on a tear in July with more hits than games played and he is now 7-for 13 in the series while Patterson stretch his league leading average to .339 with his 9th homer of the year. Notes… Sam Fuld has three straight multi-hits games and 30 hits in 21 games in July…Eric Patterson now leads the team with 32 multi-hit games and 12 3-hit games…
  22. That's about 4:05 am for me. :(
  23. YAY! I finally figured out how to tune in the broadcast on my brother's computer in Japan. \:D/ I couldn't get the sound up and running over the speakers for some reason. (of course, it's now a rain delay, but good to know)
  24. Mark Prior (7-3, 3.15) http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/407578.jpg vs. Jeff Suppan (9-7, 4.22) http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/122987.jpg Chicubs takes over gamethread starting duties for Monday's game. GO CUBS!
  25. Looks like it was a sloppy game in Lansing with 6 errors combined for Peoria & Lansing (4 for the Chiefs). Peoria loses 7-2. Sam Fuld is up to .283 now after his slow start.
