  1. One of the early good impressions Gallagher made last ST was showing up in great shape after having hired a trainer for the off-season. His father seems to be actively supporting his baseball career, so hopefully the same follow-through will occur this off-season ... and extra motivation wouldn't hurt. If he were to end up starting in Daytona, I'm hoping he'll earn his way to AA before too long. I do want to see him take on some more advanced hitters.
  2. Interesting. Wonder if they considered promoting him to Daytona earlier than they did this past season.
  3. Besides ... Cedeno was safe!
  4. Broadcast can't get back quickly enough to show the Cubs' first outs of the inning. Ah well, BBQ time for me.
  5. Season (yeah, I'm probably overreacting). It's not something the team would do, but he's (maybe or is it just Dusty who thinks that?) got the leg injury too. His arm has just not bounced back from the career-high IP and all those pitches thrown in 2003. It's impossible for me to say without knowing what's going on with the latest "is he or isn't he injured?" stories. If he isn't, then I'd want to see him finish out the season but keep him on short leash. Of course, I have no faith in Dusty's ability to manage that and instead expect to be treated to some CG ridiculous outing at some point in the next few weeks. Ugh, Neifi in. Grrrrrreat.
  6. Ronny hit by pitch on his hand ... looked and sounded painful, trainer comes out, but Ronny staying in game. Do you mean for the game or season, Raisin?
  7. Not on the road. One pitch, one out for Walker. :x
  8. Welly warming up. :( ETA: Prior gets the K to end the inning. 37 pitches in the 1st. 2-0 Giants
  9. No. Sac Fly makes it 2-0 Giants. Runners at corners, 2 down and another 3-2 count. Ball 4. Bases loaded again.
  10. You're going to have to update those of us who have been thwarted by FOX's evil stranglehold on Saturday day game baseball. Sorry. It's on Comcast here. bloop single Winn blooper caught by Hairston double off RF wall by Snow scores Winn (edited) Alou walks 1-0 Giants That's it for now. 11. Dreaded first inning strikes again.
  12. Hope Blanco and Prior brought their hitting shoes...
  13. Murton and Cedeno haven't been around long enough to have the Cubs offensive approach, as described in the other article, beaten into them.
  14. My thoughts exactly. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw a lineup that I really liked. Then again, these days if Murton/Cedeno aren't in it, I don't bother to watch. Thanks for the article today on winning + playing the younger players, Bruce.
  15. Preach it! Hoping for a good outing from Mark.
