  1. It's hard to explain here that the Maddux streak is actually pretty damn cool. Even though it's just wins. Even though it's just more wins strung out than say, Cy Young. Even though wins suck and they don't count, even though every pitcher you ever talk to says they want to win, and even though they might not get the win, they want the team to win, but they just don't know any better, obviously. They should be getting all worked up over their WHIP and BABIP and whatever else. The point to getting Maddux always was that he wins games. That's what he does. He wins. And he's won. There's a big disconnect between internet fans and chicagoland fans on that point. I'm on Maddux's side. Sorry. He's delivered more than I've seen ya'll deliver.
  2. ha ha Wow. I'm really starting to wonder how much money I'd put on Corey not being here next year. Certainly makes Dusty look like a fool. How so?
  3. I bring Dempster back and also look to bring on board someone with a very low oavg. I love the idea of Wood as a true Eck-type relief pitcher, but he doesn't like that idea yet, and he has to be on board. Basically, I like Wood in whatever role -- he's unhittable, but he either needs a good bullpen or (if he's in the bullpen) good starters.
  4. As we say in the restaurant business when dealing with our staff " there is no problem that our staff has that logic will not exacerbate" I suspect the same may be true of baseball players? Ha ha, I don't doubt that you're right -- no one is going to mention that to Z for about 24 hours. :P Just keep a low profile until then, Murton.
  5. Exactly. Murton's throw is essentially meaningless because the guy would have scored anyway. Of Course if we still had Alou in LF, he would have tried throwing home. The throw would have sailed and the run would have still scored and the runner would have moved up. So true!
  6. Maybe Z should consider the fact that coughing up that base hit would have let the guy at 3rd score anyway.
  7. Zambrano games, and some Prior games. Maybe if Hill or Mitre got to start :( I'd add Maddux, but I guess I'm in the minority here wanting to see him try to claw his way to 15 again. Somehow I'm guessing that if Clement were here instead, Hill and Mitre would still be back-seated.
  8. And a mistake throw by Murton (and it bounced going into 2B). Z needs to focus on the pitching.
  9. Just give us the email addy, Djaxx. URGH. DP plz.
  10. He's growing on me! I was not very fond of him at the beginning of the year. But he'd have to get on base.
  11. Thnx for the Dusty descriptions. :x I have the tv on in the background, but I missed that. Bizarre. I wonder if Dusty realizes that he'd be a lot more popular if he did play Murton and Cedeno.
  12. I figured you'd get your second wind. :D =; But getting emotional is reserved ONLY for Maddux supporters! Ha, that said, I'm pleading for a time-out. I'm too tired to post anything of merit tonight. BBT.
  13. She's a pretty good softball player, too. Hairston always makes it interesting out there .... he's been able to make most of those catches, though.
  14. Both of which I highly approve of.
  15. TOTALLY BOGUS CALL Was dusty really looking steamed? Maybe he should wake up and go argue the call.
  16. EEK that Lockwood picture looked like Pawelek when I first pulled it up.
  17. RONNY! :D And Len with some love for West Tenn.
