  1. That never gets old. Theriot batting for Prior and Rich Hill warming up.
  2. He had a compression fracture in his pitching elbow. Maybe that had an impact on his pitching. He's certainly not pitching as well as he has in the past (2003). He's also still usually able to make adjustments within a game, but the first inning of games has just killed him recently. I'm willing to consider causes. Whether he gets a pass from you for any reason is obviously up to you.
  3. Rothschild was here before Baker. Edited to fix quotes - sorry.
  4. He did miss spring training and had a fractured pitching elbow two months into the season (and returned a lot earlier than anyone I heard saying he would when he was injured). Maybe that's part of the problem ... that and having problems throwing that curveball for strikes, especially early in games.
  5. we really need to bring in a better catcher next year. Offense be damned, we need a good catcher to get Prior turned back around. Sounds like the job of a pitching coach to me.
  6. Grisham just gave the DJaxx some love in the TV booth. "That must be quite some team they have given the amount of talent they've brought up from AA this year." Then they mentioned the loss. :(
  7. You didn't watch the game, did you? Maybe you should read the comments from people who did or who were there. I read the comments. My cousin was there and said that many were booing him. I read the comments, too. My friend was there and said that many were booing the call. Perhaps he wasn't sitting next to your cousin. The attitude here is split among those who think people who go to games should riot and those who think that anyone who voices displeasure is an idiot. Well, I think my opinion on booing the home team is well known, but whatever one's opinion is, I think booing a player in his big league debut after such an AB isn't kosher. EDIT: My cousin just confirmed that those around her were booing Ryan, not the call. Hopefully she wasn't booing him, too. But she was there amongst them, so she must be a pathetic Wrigley fan. My friend was shouting at NomaH and WalkaH the entire time and didn't expect anything from Theriot after learning it was his first PA. My opinion of Wrigley fans tends to be higher than the opinions of everyone else I read. They sometimes boo, and they sometimes boo bad performances. Even though that's gone on for the past century, it seems to be a shock to some. Whoa! Those pathetic Wrigley fans are booing! Who would a thunk? WGN must have been a lot more Disneyfied after I stopped watching it.
  8. At least they have their priorities straight.
  9. If you aren't going to enjoy the game, don't go. If you are -- have fun! :)

  12. SWEET! Though I'm hoping to be there Friday night. All I could hear was him saying the same 10-second block over and over, with lots of buffering in between.
  13. Good! I was hoping so. Cubs fans were on their feet the entire time.
  14. Murton tags up just in case. That's so great!
  15. Booing Riot or the call? Riot looked worried that they were booing him. It was probably both.
  16. George III! (it's probably just you) :)
