  1. Nathan, if it's not a *huge* hassle, it would be great to get Gallagher's final pitch numbers for the following games: 4-8 4-14 4-20 4-26 5-1 5-6 5-16 5-22 5-27 6-11 6-17 7-7 7-18 8-28 Thanks!
  2. This doesn't really do justice to the shaving cream carnage (I think Nathan had already wiped a good amount off before this picture was taken!), but it's the only picture I have right now. :) http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a238/minorleagues/chiefs/photos-9-6-05002.jpg
  3. Um, sure, if you're simply looking at Wins: Zambrano - 28-13 Maddux - 27-22 Prior - 16-9 Wood - 11-13 But he has the worst two-year ERA of the four, the lowest K/9IP, and this year, the worst WHIP. He also leads the 2005 Cubs in losses, HR allowed, Hits allowed, lowest Pitches/Start, and earned runs. The counting stats will be partly a function of innings pitched. I don't doubt hits allowed; I'll note that Prior, Williams and Wood have higher HR/9 rates (didn't bother with Wood's splits; he hasn't been healthy this year, anyway). None of them are good HR/9 rates. I always figured Maddux would vest. He was a far better bet than Wood vesting his '07 option.
  4. Not coincidentally, Maddux will also be the first Cubs pitcher to pitch 400 innings in 2004-5. Z will presumably get there next start ... unless he were to get rocked and rocked quickly. (I think Z needs to get 7 outs)
  5. Surely there will be pictures ...? :D
  6. Here's how Fuld finished: G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB BB-SO SB/CS AVG OBP SLG 125 443 82 133 32 6 5 37 192 50-44 18/11 .300 .377 .433 The 32 doubles were most on the team (Ryan Harvey had 30); the franchise record is 38 (David Kim, 1998).
  7. Those were the team awards. I don't have them all, so we'll have to wait for Nathan to get the final list. Gold Glove Award - Sam Fuld Most Improved - Jesse Estrada MVP - Eric Patterson Hitting Prospect - Ryan Harvey Unsung Heroes - Anthony Granato & Drew Larsen (tie) Pitching Prospect - Sean Gallagher Starting Pitcher - Sean Gallagher Best Teammate - Drew Larsen 10th Man - Aaron Smith Community Service - Walt Nolen The IBB was on the last pitch of his at-bat after Harris stole 2B. Very nice game for Fuld -- he was psyched to finish at .300. :) Berg looked like he just wore out in the 9th. ---------------- Congrats to Eric Patterson on the MWL batting title. Congrats to Ryan Harvey on finishing 1st in MWL HRs, 2nd in RBIs (also 2nd on the Chiefs season RBI list). Congrats to Sean Gallagher for finishing tied for 1st in MWL wins and 3rd in ERA / 4th in Ks (going into today).
  8. You should read through yesterday's minor league game thread! If anyone has a recording, please let me know. I missed the first part of the broadcast due to family airport chauffering duties. :(
  9. That's cool. Thanks, Chris, for getting the comments from him. He's a really great, personable guy -- and he can play, too!
  10. Go Gallagher! I hope I can get an update in Peoria on how he does. He will end up finishing 3rd in the MWL in ERA. BTW, they're having the Taste of Daytona at the park before the doubleheader. We'll collaborate on a Blackford report, but I might not be able to post it until Monday night. ETA: Peoria was eliminated from playoff hopes last night with their loss. Time to just enjoy the remainder of the season. On Monday, they'll be handing out the team awards -- there are 13? of them, including MVP, best teammate ... I'm not sure what else, but some funs ones. :) The front office and the team voted on the awards. More incentive to shut down the Bay Bears! Nolasco's had a great season .
  11. Thanks for the info! If anyone would like me to bid on an item for them, please PM me ASAP ... I'm not sure I'll have access while I'm in Peoria (leaving tomorrow late morning because I have an airport trip to fit in as well).
  12. Congrats to Eric! :D
  13. great broadcast (especially the parts I heard!!) and an exciting game ... wish it would have finished the right way, but job well done.
  14. YAY Eric making us proud!
  15. C'mon, Eric! HE WALKS on a full count!!! Smith 0.1 1 0 0 0 0 0 0.00 Inherited runners-scored: Smith 2-0. Not bad for a knuckler. :)
  16. Argh, balk call stands
  17. Holy ... moley!!!! fireworks
  18. Careful, Ribbie! (at least get that Q&A done first) 1st and 3rd, 1 out
  19. CHRIS! You sound great! (you, too, Ron, as always) :D Sweet, Shipman Ks the side!
  20. Thanks. That would be great if it's not too much trouble. I'm sure others around here would like them, as well. New sig materials! :D Yay, I *finally* got home and fired up the broadcast ... just in time for the inning break. I want the recording!
  21. Cubs are opposed to the change.
  22. Sorry it took me so long to get this answer, but thanks to the good folks at the Peoria Journal Star, especially our beat writer Ryan Ori who tracked down a photo, the answer is: 12 Thanks to Ryan Ori. I had emailed him a couple of months ago about one of articles and to tell him he was frequently quoted around here. :)
  23. Ouch, indeed! Chiefs lose 7-2. The loss + Quad Cities' win eliminates the Chiefs from the divisional race. Kane County lost tonight, but the next Kane County win or Peoria loss will eliminate the Chiefs from the wild card. The Chiefs scored two runs in the 9th on back-to-back sac flies by Simokaitis and Smith to avoid being shutout. Grant Johnson is charged with 5R/2ER in 5IPs ... the error that was charged to Larsen happened while I was listening, but wasn't charged immediately; Nathan sounded definite that it was an error, so it's good to see that it was eventually scored that way. Per Nathan: the Chiefs have not scored a run in either of Grant Johnson's last two starts when Johnson is still in the game, losing by a combined 15-2. Francisco with 7Ks (and 2 ERs) in 3IPs. Steve Harris is 4-for-17 (.235) since being promoted from Mesa, but all 4 hits have been XBH (3 doubles and a HR).
