  1. Sweet! I'm glad it fit. :w00t: They had said that yours would probably arrive tomorrow, so hopefully that means Dr. Cub's and Treebeard's will arrive within the next day. If anyone runs into Sandberg23 out and about, let her know that it's her turn to pick!
  2. I want to hear Raisin's first-hand account! BTW, it seemed that every time a Lackey pitch was called a ball, Morgan's take was that he was afraid to throw strikes to which ever Yankee was batting. =;
  3. T2E chose Take Me Out to the Ballgame FanPack 1. Your turn, Vance!
  4. I have a feeling that the premium jersey auctions will be out of my price range. I think I have enough 05 minor league jerseys as it is now. :)
  5. Sweet! Eric is batting leadoff. Buck Coats is in the lineup as well, batting 9th. I'm glad AFL is underway. :)
  6. Nope, not going to do it. EVAH.
  7. I PM'd T2E to let him know it's his turn.
  8. Welcome to the forums! :)
  9. If anyone is interested in one of the future Chiefs jersey auctions that Nathan mentioned above, here's how the first round of jersey auctions went. Minimum bid for home jerseys was $75; $35 for BP jerseys. Item Name: Current Bid: Auction Ends: #11 Chiefs 2005 BP Jersey $ 35.00 10/01/05 #11 Chiefs 2005 Home Jersey $130.00 10/01/05 #12 Chiefs 2005 BP Jersey $ 35.00 10/01/05 #12 Chiefs 2005 Home Jersey $ 80.00 10/01/05 #13 Chiefs 2005 BP jersey $ 35.00 10/01/05 #13 Chiefs 2005 Home Jersey $ 95.00 10/01/05 #15 Chiefs 2005 BP Jersey $ 35.00 10/01/05 #15 Chiefs 2005 Home Jersey $ 80.00 10/01/05 #16 Chiefs 2005 BP Jersey $ 35.00 10/01/05 #16 Chiefs 2005 Home Jersey $ 90.00 10/01/05 #2 Chiefs 2005 Home Jersey $ 80.00 10/01/05 #3 Chiefs 2005 Home Jersey $ 75.00 10/01/05 #7 Chiefs 2005 BP Jersey $ 55.00 10/01/05 #8 Chiefs 2005 BP Jersey $ 35.00 10/01/05 #8 Chiefs 2005 Home Jersey $100.00 10/01/05 Home Jerseys #s #2 Jasha Balcom, Nick Thompson, Joe Simokaitis #3 Aaron Smith #8 Mark Reed, Al Corbeil, Jesse Schmidt #11 Alberto Garcia, Justin Berg #12 Josh Arteaga, Anthony Granato #13 Jerry Blevins #15 Tim Laydon, Steve Harris #16 Elvin Puello, Alfred Joseph, Jonathan Douillard, Michael Hyle BP Jerseys (when different than Home Jersey #s) #7 Sam Fuld, Joe Simokaitis. Fuld switched to #5 mid-season. Simokaitis, who wore #2 in games, wore the #7 BP jersey for the second half after the #2 BP jersey disappeared. -------------------- I don't think the #3 BP jersey was bid on -- if I had checked in earlier, I probably would have picked that up. These aren't official, but probably close to it.
  10. It's a game thread. Please don't make me play nanny tonight. :x
  11. The game is on ESPN and ESPN radio.
  12. Tangential: I read someplace that the trainer Aramis will be working with over the off-season also works with Colon. I wasn't sure if that was good news or bad news. :-s
  13. At least you'll have something to show for your misery this season! I should have made more of a point of this earlier, but better late than never: this is one small way to recognize the premium members here who have continued to support the site as it grows. Tim is working on making the switch to a new server this weekend, which will hopefully help solve some of the issues we had with traffic spikes and temporary outages this past season. The move wouldn't be possible without premium members, and we really appreciate the support you provide. On a contest-related note -- Dr. Cub's and Treebeard's packages will be sent today. Any packages selected by this evening (and UMFan83's and burnt's) will be sent out tomorrow. In response to a question I received -- if you want to negotiate a swap of one item in your package for an item in another, that's A-OK with me. If the people involved let me know before I mail the items, I'll make the switch on my end ... otherwise it's up to you to coordinate it. And we will do this again next season.
  14. Congrats to Sandberg23, who moves up into the last prize slot! :)
  15. Everyone I PM'd about winning has read the notification sitemail, so fortunately that doesn't seem like it will be a problem. :)

  19. Thanks, DLee, for making the Cubs fun for short stints at a time. Thanks for driving that pitch from Billy Wagner straight into the bleachers to give the Cubs the lead vs Philly ... before Hawkins bounced it off Jose Q's helmet in the 9th for the loss. Thanks also for hitting that home run to win it vs the Mets on a day when that cold winter wind was howling in so furiously that I didn't think anyone could hit it out. Ryan Dempster's first save appearance and first blown save (and yeah, of course, he ended up winning that one even though he took the line drive off his arm). Thanks for beating up on the Reds a few times. Always fun to see. Lee rocked this year. It's just a shame he never had anyone on base ahead of him.
  20. He's due to make about $4 million next year, isn't he? He's not going to be a backup outfielder at that rate. *If* Hendry et al is serious about promoting a Pie or Greenberg again to play, Corey will be the vet who has the 4 million good reasons to be starting.
  21. Welcome to the forums, ittoxx! :D I don't think they've reported the price on resigning Dempster yet. That's going to be a great reference for the off-season.
  22. The Daytona Cubs have updated and expanded their game-used jerseys page. They have batting practice jerseys and home/away jerseys for sale (fixed-price) priced between $100 - $200.
  23. Gallagher will continue to be a tough guy to rank becaue he does have a beautiful breaking ball that I think he can throw a couple of different ways. He knows how to pitch, though he doesn't always interview like it. And later in the season, he didn't always throw it well. If he's topped out already, we'll know that pretty soon next year. I don't think that's the case. I think it's harder to teach how to pitch than how to develop pitches at this point. I would worry about his stamina, and I'm a little puzzled that they said not to do anything at all in the off-season. He'll be a great half-season pitcher ... he needs to work up to a full season.
  24. So we should root against you?
