  1. True. But there isn't a whole lot better than Kawasaki getting into a game because the Cubs are winning by double digits.
  2. Bryce Harper just hit a grand slam off of Teheran.
  3. exactly, i'm almost so low stressed about these playoffs that I feel guilty about it. I'm sure if/when the Hawks advance to the WCF my stress levels would shoot way up. NHL needs to figure out a way to show the Blackhawks games during any time except during Cub games. Last night, I watched 3 innings of Cub baseball, paused, watched the first period of the Hawks, switched to the Cub game during intermission, went back to the Hawks game for the second period, back to the Cubs game during intermission again, back to the Hawks for the 3rd period, back to the Cubs game during overtime intermission, back to the Hawks losing, and I still had the 7th, 8th and 9th innings to watch after the Hawks game ended.
  4. Found it. December 26, 1982. Detroit was up 21-6 in the 3rd and Tampa came back to win 23-21.
  5. Tampa was my first NFL game ever. Two of the worst teams in the league, Tampa vs. Detroit. Late '70's/early '80's. Turned out to be a great game featuring a big comeback.
  6. Why is that? I like it when I can go to a game without missing any other games.
  7. I like that one Cincy pitcher decided that since the wind is blowing in, why are we just nibbling corners on these clowns. He then proceeds to watch his pitch go over the left field wall in just under 1 second.
  8. Alright, so I've decided to get a couple of tickets to the 7-5 game at Wrigley. Hendricks is throwing a no hitter that day, so I want to be there and see it in person. At this late juncture, what are my best options for good priced tickets and what are the best seats for the money? I'm seeing $80 for the seats in sections 110-133. I can probably live with that unless someone suggests better.
  9. Can he take the Geo's number to make my Soto jersey relevant again?
  10. That game was so amazing. Although I did have to bounce around with my MLB TV feed when Len and Jim went silent in the 5th or 6th. Happily, they were back in the 7th and 8th. That's the second time that's happened already this season where there is crowd noise, but no announcers.
  11. Arrieta hasn't given up a home run farther than the one he hit since his first season in the majors, and only the one.
  12. Am I remembering correctly? Rizzo had the foul ball ready to hit his glove when it caromed off that stupid wire, which would have ended the inning and ended up being one of the runs that scored to cost the Cubs that game?
  13. Patterson injured his running forward, coming down to hard on his foot with his own body weight, and suffered a small tear on his acl (front/center ligament) Schwarber had his lower leg half ripped off from the side, snapping his lateral (outside) ligament and Demolishing his knee all the way to the center where the acl is. Well, I didn't need or want to read this.
  14. I thought the Cub loss was a tough one to deal with, but I'd lose my horsefeathers if they lost the way the Dodgers lost last night.
  15. Does it help if I tell you that Ross has doubled Montero's OPS output so far?
  16. Trevor Story just hit his 5th home run. He did have a single earlier in the game to break up his only home run streak (4) to start his career. Although his streak of games with a home run is now still intact at 4.
  17. I legit thought that's what Len said last night till the showed the graphic. Yep. Me too.
  18. 121 pitches through 3 innings in the Colorado/San Diego game. 2-0 score. 68 for Rea and 59 for Liles. You'd think it would be a bigger score than that. But the Padres are now at 30 scoreless innings to start the season.
  19. I'm not down on Lackey like some, but I certainly blamed him for Schwarber's injury. How can you serve such meatballs to Jean Segura? Should have been a two hop ground ball to Russell for an easy out. Instead, Schwarber didn't get to enjoy the run scoring celebration that occurred. Heck, he probably didn't even get to see it.
  20. I'm lower on him than most, but I think you could make a case for 8th. He is definitely behind Rizzo, Bryant, and Heyward. Probably Russell and Zobrist. And I'm not 100% in 2016 he is better than Fowler or Montrro. Montero? No way.
  21. I'm trusting the original diagnosis. Sprained ankle. Back in a few weeks!
  22. With Bryant, Zobrist, Soler, Baez and Szczur all able to play LF, I doubt any of A, B or C are all that likely. Unless someone else gets hurt.
