If the Reds are currently shopping Dunn, Kearns, Griffey, Casey and already traded Randa, aren't they basically conceding the division for the next 5 years anyway? Whether the Reds want to reconcile with it or not, they need to rebuild that team from the ground up. The problem is, I think their front office may thing that by hanging on to Dunn, Kearns, Griffey, etc., they have a shot at contending in the next couple of seasons. Of course, they do not. Milwaukee is currently a year or two ahead of them. Houston is probably going to slip a bit. St. Louis always finds a way to be competitive and the Cubs have money to spend, good talent and a strong farm system. If I were the Reds, I'd be doing what Tampa Bay is doing and what Pittsburgh did. Stock up on the kids. Cincy's current starting rotation isn't going to take them anywhere. Their offense is one of the best in baseball, and where has it gotten them?
