Well, Sexson missed a few games due to postponements. Rolen missed several games due to a sore back. Uggla missed games due to postponement. I would hope your infield outscored my infield. Actually, I was just referring to the middle infield, since you were earlier bragging that yours was the best. ;) But if you want to compare entire infields, I've also had Pujols, Weeks & Reyes missing time this week due to postponed games and Vic was out for the whole week due to his injured knee from the first snowstorm in Cleveland. i think it's been established that your team is awesome. :twisted: Yeah, and even if I am partial to my middle infield, they aren't going to be #1 in points each and every week. Although Jimmy Rollins appears to be trying to.

Instead of arguing Murton and Floyd, how about we just sit Jacque Jones down for a whole series. That at bat with 1st and 3rd and nobody out might rank among the worst at bats I've ever witnessed from a "major league" hitter in my entire life. -

All the more reason to carry 8 SP's. When someone gets postponed early like today, just take that guy out of the line up and put someone else in that has a start left.

Well, rules are rules I suppose. I'm in the process of stocking up my reserves with SP's. I suggest everyone else do the same as soon as possible, as the free agent market is about to get completely tapped out. 16 teams x 8 SP (3 reserves) = 128 SP divided by 5 (the amount of starters on each team in MLB = 25.6 teams worth of starting pitchers. Offensive position reserves aren't worth as much as getting a good 6th or 7th starter that you CAN USE with your regular starters. And if you really need to replace one of your position players, the free agent market will be saturated with quality talent because there will be very few offensive reserves. Why carry them when you can have an 8th SP who matches up very well against their opponent that you can stick into the game. I'm really going to be looking forward to studying match ups to determine which of my 8 starters will get the nod each day so that I make the best use of my 7 start limit. And I'm really going to like this when Pedro is back. And I want to also be clear that if I have a commanding lead on Sunday with a start left, that I can just stick all of my starters in reserve so that I don't risk losing points on a bad start? Would this be correct? Sounds right.

That's all well and good that you drafted accordingly, which gives you the advantage of choosing which of your 7 starters pitch each week. I think you still should set your line up at the beginning of the week and leave it that way.

I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous. Example A: I have 5 starters. My 5 starters are each pitching once next week. My opponent has 7 starters. Each one is pitching once next week. He's allowed to switch out his pitchers to get 7 starts, but I can't switch anyone out because I don't have anyone to switch out to get extra starts. My opponent can switch out his reserves agaisnt me because he has extra pitchers, but I can't switch out my reserves because they are all offensive players. That's a silly rule. How about a vote?

I'd say, like my experience with Hanley this week... He was out for 4 days or so with a bad hammy. I reserved him, he played yesterday. Having seen that, I've put him back in the lineup for today, and benched his replacement. That sounds right.

I think too many points are taken off for TBA. I also believe that if W doesn't count for starters, S and H shouldn't count for relievers.

Clarification is what I want more than anything. We've got different people playing by different rules. I'm fine with last years rules. I am not fine with switching out pitchers to get 7 starts and not allowing switching out hitters. It needs to be none or both.

Just say no.. give me a chance this week.. :) Actually, I'd see it as being within the rules to do that DJ.. Raw's substitution would be allowed, IMO. The only changes that appear to be legal are ones that replace an injured player that was in your starting line up.

wow, that got you back in the game quickly. :shock: Bonderman isn't going to get credit for a complete game even though he went 9 innings. :cry: It's all about my pitching. 11 of my 12 starts so far this year have been QS.

Halladay and Bonderman putting on a show. Gonna catch Tim tonight. Woohoo! Both went 9 innings and each only gave up an earned run. Meanwhile, Oswalt got worked.

How many substitutions are there really going to be? There are only 3 reserves. If a team is carrying 2 extra pitchers, they only have 1 reserve to switch out on offense. Whereas, allowing 6 or 7 pitchers to get starts to get your magic 7 starts gives that team an upperhand over a team that only has 5 starters and 3 reserves. Typically, I'm not going to switch out my starting offensive players. But, I could have if I knew Sexson and Guillen were going to sit for a whole series or a predetermined postponement. And the argument to me is quite valid. Why allow pitching substitutions but not offensive substitutions? More than anything, clarify the rule.
