  1. Sacramento: Our mayor will put you on a damn poster.
  2. I can't wait for the Barcelona press to make fun of SL for being "Real" when they play Barca in the FCWC Final. Maybe Madrid will finally make good on their agreement to send RSL some money and marketing love if they beat them.
  3. Hey f you buddy.
  4. This is a terrible point. Until this season, a Derrick Rose v Rajon Rondo discussion was very valid and hardly dumb, and the rush to overrate players is just part of being a sports fan these days. Let's be real about it too, Rondo has won a championship and last season had an unbelievable run in the playoffs carrying an aged squad to the brink of another ring. He rightly got a lot of love based on that and the fact that he plays in front of a very loyal and obnoxiously vocal fanbase. I love the over the top F RONDO! movement by Bulls fans because in conjunction with my crazy Rose love it allows me to tap into a meatball fan part of my brain that I haven't been able to do for years and years. That doesn't mean I don't think the Rondo/Celtics hate isn't silly. It is. Rondo is a really good basketball player, but has never had the ceiling that Derrick does and now Derrick actually is part of a team that is better than his, so the weird stat cherry-picking and vitriolic inferiority complexes should probably be dropped harder than a D Rose breakaway dunk on Rondo's head because they're just silly at this point.
  5. So we're all just going to casually ignore how good this is?
  6. You know hypothetical doesn't mean the same thing as silly, right?
  7. Why are we talking about this? If you leave an NBA player wide open from 10 feet, he's going to make a ton of shots. What this has to do with shoot around and warm ups, I have no idea. It's the NBA, even bums will kill you if you don't guard them. Carlos is just freaking lazy. He thinks yelling "AH!" loudly is as good as a hand in the face.
  8. If anyone here missed this, listen to it now. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/?podcast_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.podtrac.com%2Fpts%2Fredirect.mp3%2Fnyc.podcast.play.it%2Fmedia%2Fd0%2Fd0%2Fd0%2FdX%2FdD%2FdY%2Fd5%2FXDY5_3.MP3%3Fauthtok%3D5561433211957648079_4EkUFaA3hSQFuEOfVo2h2BG5p8&podcast_name=Producer+Chris+Tannehill+Bulls+montage&podcast_artist=Laurence+Holmes&station_id=391&tag=pages&dcid=CBS.CHI
  9. The big-time player performances by Durant, D Rose, Howard and Chris Paul have been NBA fandom-affirming. This is just a great freaking league.
  10. Apparently Benny ain't gonna be cheap so Seattle is realistic.
  11. Why is Carlos Boozer such a bitch?
  12. Feilhaber to MLS according to his agent. Now it's time to sit back and watch the league try to maneuver him into the loving embrace of the Galaxy somehow. Right now Chivas and Philly have top 2 allocation spots. Seattle should make a move. He'd be what the Doctor ordered.

  14. The vagina play is a thing of beauty.
  15. The Deng thing is fairly simple. He's taking 3's instead of long 2's, he's healthy and he's playing great defense. Most importantly for our perceptions though, he has seen way less of the ball in possession. Everything looks better when Derrick's got the ball.
  16. Interesting photo. http://www.timesunion.com/mediaManager/?controllerName=image&action=get&id=927650&width=628&height=471
  17. Always nice to read a thread from years back and not find anything too remarkably stupid. Also fun to see where our expectations were and how far they've come for D Rose and the team. Edit - To be clear, I was referring to strictly my contributions. There was plenty of remarkably stupid going around from some other people.

  19. Somebody give that man the James Brown treatment. He needs to go on live TV, collapse on stage and then I'll carry out a cape and drape it on his shoulders.
  20. Resting up for the playoffs just like my boys. Whatever helps you sleep at night. That's what the big pile of money and many beautiful ladies are for. Boom. Sheen'd.
  21. This is the third year leap for Rose, but definitely more than expected. Not just the production either. The swagger, the late game ice, the game management; all of those things were question marks. Beyond that, the shooting improved far more than anyone could reasonably expect. At the end of the year he was behind Williams, Paul, Rondo and possibly a few others in the point guard pecking order. Now he's the MVP favorite and unquestionably the best lead guard in the league. As for Deng, everyone knows he's better this year beyond just defensive hustle but no one is really mentioning what it is. It's the fact that he turned his dumbass 20+ foot jumpers into three point attempts. His fg% dropped predictably but not enough for it to be overcome the added point per make. That in turn helps spread the floor for Derrick. I guess what I'm saying is that you may be somewhat right, but in order for a Bulls fan to expect this, they would have had to be really optimistic and since we're all pretty savvy sports fans for the most part, we didn't let ourselves get carried away. Even the most optimistic projections had them at 50 wins and that's not because we're dumb or don't know basketball. It's because there were too many question marks.
  22. Rondo is to layups what Boozer is to interior defense.
  23. So with the combination of it being a huge game tonight and Derrick having had a bad game on Tuesday, what is a reasonable expectation of how bad he's going to flay Rondo tonight? 35 and 9 is my prediction. Rondo will have something gay like 11-15-6.
  24. Despite being by far the most talented team in the region, we failed to qualify for the u-20 World Cup. Rongen needs to be gone.
  25. Fyi, Andy Najar is announcing his international commitment tomorrow.
