  1. Until we replace Hendry, any "improvement" to the organization is superficial and, ultimately, meaningless.
  2. It's OK, everyone. It's the injuries. Hendry and Ricketts have a plan.
  3. Why wouldn't they be? It would be great to work for a guy who didn't judge you on unreasonable things like performance. http://www.sdplastics.com/dedhorse.gif The horse won't be dead until we have new baseball operations leadership.
  4. Why wouldn't they be? It would be great to work for a guy who didn't judge you on unreasonable things like performance.
  5. Next year? You're an optimist. Wait until 2015 at least. 2020 is more like it.
  6. More excellent amateur talent assessment by the Cubs' top notch scouting department.
  7. Cardinals win. MLB's worst team loses again.
  8. If true, that's horrible. I was hoping the Nationals would save Wilken from himself.
  9. And Hendry won't leave until he resigns or retires. Ricketts loves him, thinks he's a top flight GM doing an awesome job. We're stuck with him.
  10. Never mind, we don't need a new 1b next year. Let's keep this one. Don't tempt Hendry. You just know he's looking for any reason to extend Pena. Probably $36/3.
  11. True. Only not with each other. With whatever garbage veterans Hendry brings in.
  12. What ailment would that prescription treat? Poor drafting?
  13. If the top 8 goes like that, who would you rather take? Murton never had a season even approaching what Mahtook did this year, and he had the advantage of not using the weaker bats that college guys used this year. I'm not an ESPN insider. I saw just the top 5. Who does Law have going 6-7-8? Starling is one, obviously.
  14. "Mikie Mahtook", Cajun for "Matt Murton".
  15. Cubs will rush him back before he's fully healed. He will alter his mechanics to compensate for the pain and tear his labrum. Hendry will shrug his shoulders. Book it.
  16. I will go on record today. The chance of Ricketts firing Hendry in the next six months is essentially zero.
  17. This is a really dumb argument. And irrelevant. How Hendry did or did not plan for or react to injuries is essentially meaningless. It is dwarfed by the staggering lack of talent on a $130 million payroll baseball team and the woeful farm system.
  18. I guess so, due to my unreasonable expectation that the Chicago Cubs not be the laughingstock of MLB.
  19. Why Hendry instead of Wilken? Both.
  20. Hendry is awful. He needs to be fired today.
