  1. The Ward mistake was huge. Could've been 1-0 with runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out and Z up. Maybe he would've shortened his stroke.
  2. We've got cops on Fox in MN. Of course we got Detrot vs NYY instead of St. L-Chicago. I hate Fox.
  3. Nice to win a close one. I prefer blow outs, but I'm sure winning one like this really helps the confidence.
  4. Fontenot almost killed me. Let's get some insurance!
  5. Post of the day. Gotta win three of four. Totally agree. How can they be surging with that staff?
  6. 19 hits and none of them homers. Nice to see Ramirez getting hot. I think he has the capability to carry the team when he's hot. DeRosa and TheRiot going off today. Got to give JJ some credit also. We just need Lee to figure it out. He'll break out of his slump soon, I just hope it's tomorrow.
  7. Peter Cetera for 7th Inning Stretch every game vs. St. Louis!
  8. Why not just bring up Soto? They can't be afraid of high expectations. Our catchers outside of Kendall never get a hit. I'd rather he get some at bats up here and see what he can do.
  9. Prediction: Koyie Hill goes down on strikes to end the 5th.
  10. No we just had our one inning where we show a pulse completed already.
  11. If we go down to David Weathers in 2 consecutive games I don't know what I'll do. Remember what a clown this guy was on our team?
  12. Maybe Kerry going 1-2-3 will inspire the team. Damn, I'm really reaching here.
  13. Looking like the reincarnation of the Nasty Boys tonight.
  14. Terrible interview but didn't the kid just turn 18? I think most people his age would be a little nervous and have trouble thinking what would actually be good to say. Anyways, this game is really p*****g me off. I said OK, they're on WGN, I can watch this one. I'm going to stay up late because this is a critical game and I want to be there if they win it. Now I'm thinking I'm watching the game where the season collapsed. We can't get starting pitching and when we do, we don't hit. I can't blame the Soriano injury on this malaise. Yeah it sucks, but these guys have to show something in the face of adversity.
  15. I swear that this season is going to age me like no other season before. If we can pull this one off I think it will give us the momentum to win the series and then knock the surging Cardinals out of conention. At least I hope so.
  16. I'll buy one. Me too. Ditto. I'm surprised it was Patterson that got the call. I guess they really feel Pie has too many things still to work on. I do think that you'll see a heavy dose of Derosa in RF as I can't see Patterson being throw into the OF even if he's been working there, plus I think they want DeRosa's bat in there as much as possible with Soriano out. Hopefully opens up a chance to see Murton in LF with Floyd, as Floyd has been hitting well, but watching him try to cover ground in the OF is painful.
  17. Marshall has to be the goat. The bullpen despite the runs at the end has been fantastic these last few games. We really need Z to pitch some big innings tomorrow. I like the effort in trying to comeback. We fell short, but the effort was there.
  18. I don't think the board is very high on him, but I like him a lot. Most of the sports talk in MN thinks keeping Hunter is even more important then Santana. I disagree, but the argument for production 5 days out of 5 is more important than 1 day out of 5 is at least plausible. His defense is spectacular. He does more than just dive into walls for a highlight reel. He's a high character guy and a great leader. Heart and soul of the team. His power numbers are higher this year which some would attribute to it being a contract year, but that's not how he plays and is more due to working on fixing a hitch in his swing this offseason. I think he could play anywhere in the OF, so he wouldn't necessarily block Pie from coming. EPat is an interesting idea as part of an offer because the Twins aren't going to keep Castillo as they have too worry about $ for Morneau, Santana, and of course Hunter. If we're not going to play Murton then he might be a possibility as well. I'd love to see him hitting 5 or 6 on the Cubs.
  19. no, that was J.D. Drew, and I'm proud to say that I was at that game. That one doesn't surprise me at all. When he refused to sign he played for the St. Paul Saints. I started booing him and everyone asked why. I explained that he didn't think an $11 million dollar signing bonus was enough coming out of college and pretty soon I had more people booing. If we could move Jones and Eyre in a deal, I wouldn't even ask Philly to eat some of the salary. I think Burrell could be very interesting for us.
  20. The deal for Izturis pissed me off as well. You can't tell me that some team wouldn't have given something better for Maddux. I hate Izturis.
  21. I think Guzman still has some marketability, so he might be enough for them to consider. For the Reds its more of a salary dump than anything else.
