  1. If we do end up getting Daisuke, does that mean are chances of resigning Ramirez go down?
  2. I disagree. They are very balanced, but tend to give up some big plays. They have a great turnover margin, and a potent offense. I think they could go toe to toe with the big powers.
  3. once again ill say it, these new rules absolutely blow
  4. these new rules suck
  5. Illinois Scores with 1:40 left, now within a TD.

  8. Denver vs. Indy might be the most evenly matched game i've seen all year
  9. Oh well, at least when Cal beats USC, we will jump up higher than we would if they ranked fairly.
  10. Cal - 50 bajillion UCLA - negative 3 :( Plz go easy. This looks like a trap game that could completely ruin Cal's season though. UCLA's defense is alot better than alot of people think, so hopefully Tedford plans accodingly.
  11. Cal vs. UCLA, this should be fun :) But I'm Very pissed that USC is still in top 10 after they lost to the same mediocre Oregon St. team that we handled in their house.
  12. I really hope that Wieters falls to us. We are really lacking in positional talent (even though the whole system is lacking really). I won't complain with brackman though, I just hope he isn't another Bobby Brownlie.
  13. the discrepencies between the cubs and bears right now is remarkable
  14. this might be one of the worst year in baseball I've ever seen.
  15. Looking over this thread again, and the various A-Rod threads and thinking very critically I have come up with the conclusion that A-Rod for Zambrano straight up (if that was the dealbreaker) would be of our best interest to take. Zambrano is among the game's top pitchers, but with that there comes alot of circumstances that could lower his value considerably in the near future. After this season, he is going to be a FA. If Hendry feels that he won't be able to sign him to a reasonable contract (less than 15 mil), than this would be a great time to start trading when someone's value is highest. Before I go forward with Zambrano for A-Rod I explore every single option I can to make a deal that doesn't involve Z. Afterwards if that has no results I look to see every avenue I can take where I would be getting a better haul than just A-Rod. I think I would tempted to take a package of Billingsley, Laroche, and Drew for Zambrano, and Jones.
  16. I don't think they wan't Pie as they have no room for him when he does eventually come up. A Prior, Eyre, Izturis, and Marshall for A-Rod. I wouldn't mind taking a bad contract like Pavano along with it to help the deal.
  17. Shawne Merriman got caught doping http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2635475 http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/381/214825102905zv9.jpg
  18. Louisvile really needs to lose, they don't deserve that seed IMO. congrats to clemson for cracking the top 10 finally. Unfortunately since they play no one from here on out, they won't get a chance to move up and will probably fall to #13-#15 by the end of the year
  19. People need to understand that the only way the Cubs benefit off of this new "market share" is off merchandise and ticket sales from japanese tourists. They won't make any extra profit from tv viewing as it goes into the collective bargaining agreement if i remember correctly. But 30 mil posting fee is certainly worth it IMO. His actual contract will probably be no more than 8 mil per for 5 years. And the posting fee would be spread out across 5 years. So how is he not worth 14 mil a year is what I ask you? Obviously there are no guarantee's, but I feel loads more comfortable with Daisuke considering he is the youngest out of the "big 3" FA pitchers, has the nastiest stuff, and has actually dominated in the WBC.
  20. I think Arod is being a little underappreciated here. When he plays SS, he is heads and tails above any other offensive SS in the league. Getting that kind of production out of a SS which is a premium offensive position could be the difference between a mediocre offense and a great one. On the issue of Zambrano not being one of the top 10 pitchers in the game, I completely disagree. In fact, I can only name two pitchers I'd rather have at this point in their careers, Johan Santana, and Fransisco Liriano. It's unholy that those two should be on the same team.
  21. pendelton anyone?
  22. Interesting, Nebraska #15. They are good, no doubt, but they haven't impressively beat anyone in conference. A bad KU team by only 7, a bad Iowa State team by only 14, and a meh K-State team by only 18. They are good, and I'd rank them higher than Missouri at this point (just because they have played USC and UT tough), but I don't think they're a top 15 team. I see them losing two of the next three games: on the road against a solid Oklahoma State, home vs. Missouri, and on the road against A&M. Wasn't Nebraska #17 this week? You don't go up 2 spots by losing, IMO. Yes, I know they played a top team. I still don't think they'll go up. they barely lost though. a win would have put them in my top 10. losing by two to a heavy favorite top 5 team is at least 2 spots IMO. Who else would you put at 15? Oregon lost badly, GT lost badly (even though it was to a great clemson team). That's two teams that dropped to let Nebraska go up 2.
  23. my top 15 after tonight #1 Ohio State #2 Michigan #3 USC #4 West Virginia #5 Texas #6 Louisville #7 Auburn #8 Tennessee #9 California #10 Clemson #11 Florida #12 Notre Dame #13 LSU #14 Arkansas #15 Nebraska
  24. This is the way I'd rank the conferences #1 - SEC #2 - Pac-10 #3 - Big 10 #4 - Big 12 #5 - Big East #6 - ACC
