  1. \\ Why Prior? I'd avoid trading him because he's only had one year where he's really injury prone. Of course, you're toying with wasting his value if he's bad again this year, but i'd rather that we suck the remaining life out of his arm over the Yankees. If prior or no prior is a dealbreaker, than I trade them Prior. I would like to keep him, but a Prior, Eyre, Pie package to me looks like the only one that would get it done without trading away a keeper unless the Yankees really love Hill.
  2. Alright, can we just give Urlacher the Defensive POY now so I don't have false hopes of Bailey winning it.
  3. I think this might have been the most exciting 4th quarter I've seen since the 98 Broncos-Jax game.
  4. Chicago is going to the super bowl. I don't care who the QB is, this team has god behind it.
  5. I'm calling it right now. Bears INT coming up
  6. as long the offense goes back to what they had been doing, and not what the Raiders have been doing. The offense hasn't even scored a TD for them. I can't believe that.
  7. Man Chicago is a special team.
  8. HAHAHAHAH I LOVE IT AND IM NOT EVEN A BEARS FAN. Don't even let Rex get a try to win the game for you, do it thru defense and special teams hahahaha
  9. if this was in Chicago, I think theyd be tearing the roof off the motherf**cker
  10. holy crap, urlacher just made me a believer
  11. Will the posting fee come out of this year budget of 115? If so, then Im guessing it will take all of that extra 15 mil just to try to contract him, how much will his actual contract be worth afterwards?
  12. The middle ground would be about 4.20. Which is above league average. And I do agree that he's not worth seeking out in a trade and Padilla is very likely to put up similar numbers. But the scenario here involves taking Hudson to facilitate getting Andruw Jones. And if the Braves eat some of Hudson's deal, Padilla won't be much cheaper. Hudson only makes 6M next year, Padilla will likely make more in 2007. FWIW, that 4.20 ERA would likely be about a 108 ERA+ next year. Padilla's career ERA+ is 106, and he hasn't been that high in 3 years. I might be more happy with Hudson if Jones was coming back in the trade. There's also always that possibility he has a resurgance and we get a ERA of 3.5-3.7 and an ERA+ of something like 120
  13. I love everything about San Diego but their coach. I wouldn't have laughed at the AFC side of your prediction. The NFC side on the other hand... :) Yeah, I hate Shotty. But I had to pick the Giants. I really like their team. They have Eli coming into his own. Their skill players are in their prime. They have a ton of defensive talent. And I have a thing against picking my team. Unfortunately, I'm usually right when NOT picking the Bears and Cubs. Don't forget Barber, he was looking amazing against a very good Run D today.
  14. Madden has been a few fries short of a Happy Meal for a long time now. I love how any praise for an NFC team has to come with that "in the NFC" caveat - it can't be "in the NFL." As a whole, is the NFC or AFC better? The AFC has been getting quite a bit of attention for the last several years, and rightfully so, with the success of the Pats and Steelers, plus the Colts having always been a powerhouse that just can't finish the job. Now Jax, SD, and Denver are all really good as well (SD is the team to beat in the AFC, imo), but I think the NFC is going to provide much better competition this year. The Bears are the best team in the league until otherwise proven, but the Eagles, Saints, and Falcons should all me making plenty of noise this year as well, and StL and Seattle should be good too. The thing with the NFC is it's always one powerhouse and the rest are just above average. Philadelphia, New Orleans, and Atlanta I dont think would go 9-7 in the AFC. There are at least 8 or 9 teams in the AFC that could go 11-5 in the NFC.
  15. How many of their top guys were acquired via trades using prospects from their respective farm systems? That's beside the point he was trying to make. NUN said that a team cannot win if it is based mostly upon outside acquisitions. Players acquired through trades fit that mold.
  16. Over the last 3 years, the cubs have arguably been the most injured team in baseball, at least when it comes to their core players. How much of that is just due to bad luck, player abuse, or a bad medical staff. I honestly feel that if all the players we have on this team currently could return to their prime form (not career years as much as career norms) we'd already be a force to be reckoned with.
  17. Boo. I will be so happy if UCLA can knock Brady Quinn on his candy ass next week.
  18. So all the 0 win teams have won a game so far today except for oakland. I don't like bad omens :(
  19. What a crazy day in football. My pick'em picks are absolutely shot.
  20. Quick Question. Who have been pitching coaches under Piniella and how much effect could a great one have on his decisions?
