i have my first day of school tommorow, but i am not missing the end of this game.

i remember watching one game when i was younger, not sure if it was the cubs or not, where the GM came down to the dugout and pretended as if he was suiting up to come into to pitch.

Well it would make sense considering that some players are out of shape/not limbered up like they might be in the middle of the regular season but I would guess that they are about the same. Former Bronco Portis is right, we need to cut down on these games

Only a matter of time til Cutler beats out the horrible, Jake Plummer. 34-11 in 3 years with a 90% Passer Rating sure is horrible huh. What does a 90% passer rating mean? I've honestly heard of or seen that stat before. 34-11 just means he's had good teams. Kyle Orton was what? 11-3? the addition of the % was a goof on my part, but if you're questiniong the actual term passer rating http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passer_rating You can't be considered horrible when you lead your team to 3 straight playoffs, regardless of the result in sed playoffs. Of course. The reason the Broncos have made the playoffs 3 straight years couldn't be due to the fact that they have averaged the 2nd, 4th, and 2nd most rushing yards per game in 2003-2005 could it? but are you still trying to push plummer = horrible because you should know that with someone like kordell stewart under center, they would not have made any playoff berths. Plummer is a decent, and at best above average QB at the moment., and he looks to improve for the 4th straight time under shannahan.

Hendry IMO is going to target one big name pitcher and then overpay for his toolsy bench players. We just have to cross our fingers hes on Schmidt or Zito's jock and will give them 4 years, but we also have to hope he can get his magic back and land us a big bat via trade, Alfonso Soriano anyone?

I'm suprised and happy at the way the Cubs have taken their time with Pie, but I think it is because of his age, because lord knows how many times the organazation has ruined the career of many a good minor leaguer a la Patterson. I really hope we say Pie given a chance to be an everday starter, what kind of player exactly does he project to be and what spot in the order is he best suited for?
