  1. Unless those discussions have been held confidentially between a small group of people.
  2. The City and rooftops are overplaying their hands here. They need the Cubs a helluva lot more than the Cubs need them. The team would make a ton of cash in Rosemont, which people forget is adjacent to O'Hare and is surrounded by hotels, restaurants, high and medium end office parks. Plus it's been highly redeveloped to the east of 294 and looks really good.
  3. Straight up There was a lot the Hawks did well tonight, but you have to credit Minni's effort and game plan for neutralizing them early. You cold see the ice tilting the Hawks' way as the game wore on though. Too many skill players.
  4. The homer in me wants to applaud his decision to actually sidestep the topic and not say something stupid about abominations, going to hell, being a sinner, the act being icky, etc. I'll just try and maintain that notion. Yeah, but there's also the thought that if he wanted to sidestep the issue, the better decision would've been to not reply at all. It was twitter, not a reporters mic shoved in his face. Yup. He's been around long enough to know when its time to shut the hell up.
  5. They probably don't, so long as Greene can take on TE's, RB's and in some cases Guards.
  6. Went lots o' yard last night
  7. Bostic is a good pick. Wish we had a 3rd rounder as well.
  8. They think he's Harvin. Profile is similar.
  9. Well, at least that makes me feel better. The Vikings NEED to be capable of reciprocal stupidity, or else the Bears are really screwed. You're forgetting that GB just drafted a guy who Cutler is likely to become acquainted with.
  10. Bills is worst. With the caveat being of course that a qb can actually make a difference. The kid from Houston was a bad pick by Oakland.
  11. FWIW, from NFLDraftTek:
  12. Hard to argue. I feel like we are the Raiders of the NFC.
  13. Seriously. We are becoming the Raiders.
  14. . Is that another way of saying what lumafia posted?
  15. I'll forgive them if they (at minimum) make a serious run at Cano.
  16. Marmol actually looks good when he maintains a compact delivery instead of flailing all over like Juan Pierre playing CF.
  17. AKA, "Oy vey!" Seriously, if not the bullpen we are a .500 team. The starting pitching has been really good.
  18. I wish they'd bring back Green and Frey.
  19. Relative to our other current players he hits for average pretty well.
  20. -77 OPS+ Sort of seems like an oxymoron to have a negative OPS+. EDIT: That said, Clevenger leads our bench with a stellar .125 BA.
  21. I hope people stop buying their crappy tickets if the rooftop association tries to injoin construction of the jumbotron. I've been up there a couple of times and hated it. Its not a ball-game so much as it is a basement party that cost you 150-200 bucks to attend.
  22. Yeah, but also in the context of what the Cubs are trying to accomplish his presence on the ML roster makes no sense.
  23. It bothers me that we waste a roster spot on him. He doesn't have a future with the team and doesn't contribute in any meaningful way now. At least give the spot to someone who we need to see play against ML competition and/or who can help us win games.
  24. My thinking is that a lot managers love these types of gritty, max effort players because it's what they were in their own playing days and they still havn't come to grips with the fact that they too were bad. Hoyer and Theo must also think he has some value.
