He's terrible. Doesn't see the puck at all. We may need a new backup goalie before long because if Craw were to miss a significant amount of time we could be in serious trouble. Who might be available via trade?
He got that contract because he played on the Yankees during their championship run. Not because of charisma. MLB teams don't make money off charisma, they make money off television ratings and attendance, and that is correlated to winning. A superstar helps you win, which pays for itself. A charismatic personality does very little for the bottom line. Having both is nice. Worked for Sammy.
I'm not sure if Tucker is the problem. It's just Emery and mostly Angelo left us with an aging defense that hit it's peak already. Yeah, I'm not seeing the connection between the performance and the scheme. The D-Line is on roller skates and the DB's have made bad decisions and are generally poor tacklers. Age is catching up, and the tackling issue has been around for a while.
It's pretty easy to see why Girardi may look at us as a better situation than that mess. Girardi is smart enough to want to get out of NY, but that doesn't guarantee he's coming to Chicago. That was my point a few pages back. The Nats are also looking, they are ready to win now, have two of the best young players in the game, and he would be only a few hours drive from NY.
Yankees job looks like crap for the next couple of years, but its likely Girardi sees the Cubs job the same way. My guess is someone like Davey Martinez is next.

BB, Cowher and Coughlin all started before the current, offensive-minded approach took shape. Tomlin might be the exception but that doesn't mean it's worth rolling the dice. See Raheem Morris, Jack Del Rio, Mike Singletary, Jim Mora Jr, etc.
Tom Moore was Dungy's OC for that entire period. Dungy stayed out of the way, which was smart. That model can work with an exceptional QB and OC, but I think it's rare. You're far better off having an innovative and offensive-minded HC.
Hammer's contract seems movable to me. He's a young, second pair D-man with significant playoff experience. The only way he could be more valuable is if he were a clear first-pair guy or scoring fwd. Craw's is dependent on whether he plays close to last year's level consistently over the next several years. I'm not confident yet that he can, mainly because few goalies are consistent year-over-year. That said, if they maintain defensive talent in front of him (including defensive fwds) they can mask some of his issues (glove!).
Yes. They'll call Jordan Palmer if they need a QB. They're planning on actually protecting Cutler too. Something the previous regime showed an amazing amount of disdain for, and had to pay for it dearly. The Raiders released Tyler Wilson. Wish we had some room for him.
Only if facts are cool. Big 10 opponents Week 1: Indiana St UNLV So Illinois Cincy UMass Buffalo Syracuse No Illinois Central Mich Wyoming Cal An before you tell me how tough No Illinois is, I would argue the same point to Louisiana-Lafayette. Good lord, dude. If you can't take a few sarcastic jabs, life's going to be miserable for you in the college football thread. Take it from someone who knows. You weren't being sarcastic though.
You had to cut Onobun. He's an amazing athlete, but he's also a space cadet with unreliable hands. Also, glad to see Ford made the team. He could share the load with Bush were Forte to miss any time.
