  1. We've been shitty on the road. They've been covering at home.
  2. Insomnia overnight led me to ponder some stuff, including who the starting QB should be going forward. If the Bears get in they are very likely to see the 49'ers or Panthers in the first round. Those are probably the best defenses in football. You're going to need a QB with mobility who has arm strength enough to fit throws into tight spaces. So, to me the QB issue hinges on who you trust against a very good defense. I totally get why people love Josh. He's been great. That said, he really hasn't been tested by a very good defense (I don't think there are any "great" defenses this year). Some of the throws he made last night were really good, but many were pretty simple. Jay has superior arm strength and touch (except maybe on screens / blitz check downs). He generally doesn't have to hold the ball quite as long as a result. On that basis I'd go with Jay as soon as he is 100% healthy.
  3. Closer to Gannon than Warner.
  4. Wright and Conte suck. We have so many needs on D.
  5. Wow - our LBs are terrible. The DLine is getting good push.
  6. The QB coach? Or whoever the back up is, who is it btw? Palmer
  7. McCown has great touch on screens and check downs. Maybe better than Cutler's.
  8. Best one you and I have ever seen in Chicago
  9. You can't count a 35 yr old guy with one good season under his belt, IMO. Unless his season is better than your starter's who is probably still hurt Apologies - I thought you meant from 2014 onward.
  10. It's every bit as bad as it looks. It's been a few years since we had a December like this.

  12. What's with his voice? Did his balls just drop?
  13. I'm going ahead and opining that he is the best WR in football not named Calvin Johnson.
  14. He's insane. He's Calvin Johnson in a much better uni.
  15. Ok, I want to have McCown's children
  16. BRANDON [expletive] MARSHALL What a bad ass
  17. Trestman may have other issues, but he calls a fantastic game on O.
  18. Kyle Long such is a bad mutherf------
  19. Part of me thinks that strategy makes more sense. Soler prob won't be ready by '15, which appears to be the target for "turning the corner".
  20. That's why you always leave a note. http://content.internetvideoarchive.com/content/photos/463/019452_26.jpg +1
  21. I'm sure Tanaka will be begging to be posted given him being able to make even more money after the recent agreement. Although it's still up to the club, technically. Would it be permissible for Tanaka to give a portion of his salary to Rakuten in order to bridge the posting fee gap?
  22. if they grab Choo and Tanaka, and trade Samardzija for near-ML ready pitching, I would look at this offseason as a success.
  23. Put simplistically, I'd rather have a cheap s--tty team than an expensive one. At least then you can divert formerly wasted resources to building for the future. I want to see them add young pitching before ST, though. That's what Theo has said (several times) is the goal. Ok, fine. Not promising immediate improvement on the ML level for 2014. My expectations are set. Then you better grab at least two or three starting pitchers who will be ML-ready by no later than February 2015 to coincide with the arrival of Almora, Baez, Bryant, etc.
  24. Cano could be this generation's Edgar Martinez.
