  1. Not sure how anyone could know that Shea can't play OLB based on only last season.
  2. Elvis lives! Can someone explain what the NFL has against modern technology? Does anyone use fax machines anymore?
  3. That probably means we are drafting two OL's, a DT, a LB, and a WR.
  4. So how much have we saved in total? Spaeth is around $2mil (not positive on that one), Toeana around $1mil, and Davis like $1.5. Buys us a backup or two. EDIT: We should cut Garza too.
  5. So how much have we saved in total?
  6. I am not sure whether the tone of that comment was "matter of fact", but if it was a complaint that guy should quit whining and try to understand what it means to be a professional in a highly competitive industry.
  7. Just a thought - if they draft a tackle like Fluker in the first round, could they trade Webb? Cut him?
  8. I'd love to see them sign Moore. That takes a ton of pressure off the draft and makes us less likely to reach. Plus we might be able to afford to grab a QB project in the 5th or 6th.
  9. Fitzpatrick released by Buffalo. For the right price he'd make a nice backup to Cutler.
  10. Just noticed that former Cubs were dropping like flies last week: Mather, Wuertz and Ohman were all cut.
  11. I think the intent was that the Tigers pay Marmol's salary, but I could be wrong.
  12. I'd be ok with McCown as the backup and draft a project as the No. 3.
  13. I'm glad the streak is over. Tired legs last night (though the thin air can genuinely take a toll on any visiting team). I'd rather they expend their energy in the playoffs.
  14. Amazing, but scared re Sharpie...
  15. Moore was a mediocre coverage corner and a horrible tackler. He was a true scheme guy with a really bad haircut. They finally woke up and realized this late last season, but it shows how blind the old regime could be.
  16. Is that due to scar tissue? The knee is clearly fully healed structurally if he's been cleared for full-on practice. My guess is the scar tissue, yes. I never have seriously injured my knee, however, about three years ago my hand was cut in- half between the index and middle fingers and - in spite of all the rehab I did - the scar tissue still causes me trouble. It was really bad during the first 6 months to a year. I can only imagine how tough it is to work through scar tissue when you have to make the quick moves he has to.
  17. I wonder how much longer our 2nd pairing will look this good. That and the third line make me nervous. Still, I should be happy. They have so much talent from 1-6 and on the first pairing. Makes everyone else look bad.
  18. The problem with Edmonton is that you never know what you're going to get: The team with a lot of young stars in the making or the hopelessly clueless team that doesn't know how to win. They play craptacular D much of the time. Their forwards might be the worst defensive crew in the league. That said, they are awafully fun to watch in the other team's zone.
  19. Could we trade our 5th Rnd and Hester for a 3rd?
  20. The NBA salary cap system is pretty complex to the avg fan, I would think. Makes it tough for owners and GM's to justify their moves and non-moves. Examples: - Bulls fans will be aggravated that we stood pat today - Magic fans will wonder why the return on Reddick was so *meh* - "What the hell was the point of the trade we made today?", asked Raptors and Suns fans.

  22. With Buss gone, RealGM has posted a poll asking which other NBA owner you would want to own your fave team, were you given the choice. Cuban is running away with it followed by the Russian guy from NJ, but I think that's crazy talk. I'd pick Holt from SA. That has to be the least dramatic and most quitely succesful franchise in professional sports. They spend wisely and draft well, and Holt seems to stay out of the basketball operations.
  23. Hopefully it includes a team or two with decent farm systems.
  24. Nice job by Jed, Theo and the scouts. It is amazing that we got any sort of potential ML talent (particulalry at such a young age) for Campana.
  25. AB has been pretty bad this season, but he was good the last couple years. He doesn't have much help up front. Playing with Noah, Taj and Deng could hide his weaknesses (defense and rebounding) and enhance his strengths (shooting and passing). Plus we theoretically save several million under the cap by unloading Boozer.
