  1. he's more useful than Jerry is at this point, IMO.
  2. Yes Cubs.com says its Jerry.
  3. Lets see, he played a bunch of OF in SD, and came up as a 3B or catcher (I can't recall which).
  4. :?: I actually think he never got a fair shot around here. He should have been playing 2B everyday after Lee got hurt. At least he takes some pitches.
  5. Sammy for Nevin, Fotenot and the other guy. Adios, Jerry. We hardly knew ya'.
  6. More copy-cat behavior from Hendry - we both got guys who were sitting around and doing nothing in TX.
  7. OK, so he'll play 1B until Lee gets back, creating a lineup that will look somehting like this: Pierre Walker Murton ARam Nevin Barrett Jones Cedeno What happens when Lee gets back? I guess he will provide some much-needed right-handed pop off the bench. Who gets traded? Wood?
  8. Nevin's projected stats for 06' base on his current pace. Rob Deer-like: G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI AVG OBP SLG Projected: 156 597 88 129 27 0 31 105 0 .216 .307 .415 Per ESPN.com.
  9. Levine on ESPN Radio 1000 in Chicago reporting that deal is done. Texas expects to receive a "major legaue player in return". That's a contradiction in terms depending on who it is, no? I knowhis avg and OBP are low, but he has nine ding-dongs. We could use the punch.
  10. That's what I thought? Maybe I caught the tail end of a conversation then. I thought it was odd. Your sig is giving me a headache. Your sig is making me smile. Not too long ago, it was at 299. You need to update it, cuz we're at 307 now. Its got a date qualifier that allows me some time to update it. CYA  Bingo.
  11. It might be overpaying, but calling it an out-and-out "waste" isn't accurate.

  14. ESPN.com says its a done deal: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2464315
  15. If the part about Prior is true, it lends credence to Stark's recent report that the Cubs have concluded that he will be oft-injured and unable to pitch through discomfort.
  16. Yup. Same guys who said Prior was having TJS back in 04'.
  17. I got it because I used to work for a Fortune 200; wouldn't expect any normal people to get it.
  18. ESPN Radio also reporting that the Stros are denying the report.
  19. ESPN Radio reporting same based on Newsday story. Curses. Then again, why am I upset? Its not like we are getting back into this thing.
  20. yep, 1 bad season and he's toast. giving him a few more years to develop a system would be stupid, huh? I know you are being sarcastic here, and I agree one year is too short a time to judge most performances, but the reality is that big market teams have less patience, and (for better or worse) there is an amount of brown-nosing and good behavior that is required to survive in these jobs.
  21. wow, they should release him! No, we need more relievers, and this one can play 2B!
  22. I asked that question a long while ago and never received a response.
  23. I think this is conjecture based on the fact that he has recently been the whipping boy of King George and the NY media and fans.
  24. Leaves us a bit thin in the pitching department, no? Also, which one of Aramis, Cedeno, or Walker would you bench/trade to make room for Rodriguez in the lineup? Counter proposal: Wood + Aramis/Walker for Arod + cash. (Mostly to reduce Arod's cost toward the end of his deal.) ARam could be huge in NY, what with the enormous Hispanic population there.
