  1. Brilliant, simply brilliant. Standing "O" for Pax. Amazing job. =D> PJ Brown is another perfect addition. He can give you 15 solid minutes a night, is a good and physical defender, and has always had a good mid-range (15-17 feet) jumper. Of course, he's a coach's dream and a locker room leader. When he, Wallace and Noc are on the floor together, no one will dare drive the lane.
  2. Yes, it will be terrible to lose all the scoring we were getting from Chandler. I never said it would be terrible to lose Chandler. In fact, I think its necessary in light of this signing. I am saying I think we overpaid for him. I just want to know where the scoring around the rim is going to come from. Purely perimeter teams rarely go far in the playoffs. Yeah, those Mavs and Suns sure did disappoint this year. The Mavs were an exception and Dirk still did plenty of scoring 12 feet in. The Suns rely as much on transition scoring as they do a perimeter game. They also have Shawn Marion and when Amare Stoudamire returns, they are going to be dumping it inside more often. Stoudamire didn't play all year, and even when he does, its not his post moves that get him points; and if you think Dirk ane Marion are a "inside presence" of the ilk you seem to be talking about, then you don't wach much hoops.

  4. Nothing personal, but I think you are dead wrong. This sequence has been brilliant, and will be even more so if they manage to dump Chandlers contract and retain cap flexibility for next season. They have set up their frontcourt and permiter for years with youngsters like Hinrich, Gordon, Deng, Noc, and Thomas, and have added much needed veteran toughness inside. Brilliant. EDIT: And they can still get the Knick's no. 1 next year if its higher than there's is. More brilliance.
  5. And my comment about Neifi being like the coach's kid, which is quoted in Mizzou's sig...for which I say thanks, BTW.
  6. I for one wouldn't mind dealing Pierre and handing the CF job to Pagan. Can't be worse than its been, and at least Pagan is an awesome dresser.
  7. Some of you guys should check the facts before being so judgmental.
  8. It's also an over-the-hill stripper name. Hmmm...a horse, a cowboy and a stripper....where have I heard that one before? Were you at my bachelor party? Good one.
  9. I think their run of getting great performances from fill-ins, youngins' and utility guys has ended; Smoltz is hurt and aging; their bullpen is horrible.

Not surprised by what the Bulls did, and it could look very good in two years. I won't know how to feel about it until I see what they do in FA. I can't believe the Gansy kid from WV wasn't picked. We need to jump all over that. Reminds me of Steve Kerr.

Here's an interesting exchange between a poster and Ford: That seems like a steep price to pay, even for the Big Ticket. I think I could live with it if it were Gordon and the no. 2, or Deng and the no. 2.

Fair enough. I think Paxson's keeping and using the pick. If the Raptors choose Bargnani like most prognosticators believe, all signs point to the Bulls picking either Thomas or Aldridge. But it could all be a mirage as you suggest. I hope its Aldridge, if it shakes down as you are predicting. The Iverson talk is really interesting also. I read in Sam Smith's column that Memphis is a front runner, and maybe on other team that I can't recall.

Why? It's not like he's hoping those guys will fall to him. He's guaranteed to have his pick of two of the three. Its not about that. If he makes Toronto or whoever else he has heard is trying to trade up / down (Boston? GS? Suns?) think he is interested in several players and a decision has not been made, someone might be willing to pay more in a trade with him to get the No. 2 spot in order to ensure they got their guy. I still think Pax has something up his sleeve, and even if we do stay at No. 2, we might be drafting for someone else, a la Webber and Hardaway in 94'. Like how the Clippers drafted Chandler for us? Or how we drafted Mihm. if your post is meant to imply that this strategy is a bad idea, you should consider who was responsible for the transactions you referred to. Hint: It wasn't Paxson.

Roy's out? He's bluffing. There's no way he'd be that direct and obvious.
  16. I might have agreed a few months ago, but based on some of JH's recent's comments, I think the tide has turned for good. Read today's paper again.
  17. Yeah, that's the really scary part. I almost fell out of "L" car when I read that in the paper this morning.
  18. Ramirez, Hill and other prospect for Burrell and Utley. Move Utley to third, problem solved. Though, better chance of the Pope getting married than there is of the Phillies trading Utley at this point. Gillick would have to be insane to do that deal. Utley is going to be a star for 10 more years.
  19. Nevin has no future with the club and can't help them at all. It would be dumb to hold onto him. They have to get whatever they can in a trade. Agreed. The trade mkt this year is very thin. If you can swing a good prospect for him you should.
  20. He's a legend, plain and simple. I have grown up reading him and watching him, and he has well earned Royko / Lincicome status in Boston. Get well, Peter.

From Chad Ford at ESPN: Sign me up. That's so one-sided (in favor of the Bulls) that its not funny. Pax can pick a big at no. 2 (probably Aldridge) and take the best available at 9.

Could Boston really be that stupid? I really, really hope so. Four words: Danny Ainge Doc Rivers
  23. Walk east on Jackson until you get directly under the "L", then walk north (i.e., take a left) under the "L" until you reach an entrance for a Brown Line station (Quincy / Wells is the name). Go up, be sure to be on the west platform (closest to Union station) and get on a Brown Line train. Have fun!
  24. Dusty, please make sure to mention the rook pitchers by name next time you think to chuck em' under the bus: Marmol, Marshall, Ryu, Hill, Aardsma...Rusch...
