It's always fun to have a guy who is a legit threat to hit a HR off the bench, and nothing more. But he hasn't been able to do anything against RHP this year. Need to keep his playing time very limited. DO you think Lou will be limiting his playing time? I see him filling in for Floyd & Murton a lot more. Which is terrible. Lou may even try to play him in CF. See you in a few weeks Fox or Pie. Right, because Lou is such a terrible manager. He just does dumb stuff all the time. He certainly isn't getting the most out of this team. not saying that lou is terrible, but "getting the most out of this team?" you have to be kidding. it's a $100 mil team that's like four games over .500. if that's the "most," i don't want to see the "least." Yes, because it's Lou's fault Hendry doesn't know how to properly construct a roster. Beat me to it. Most of the "mistakes" on this roster occurred before Lou got here.

This thing with Bradley is getting as old as the people who say Murton is this bd's Messiah. I would have been happy to have Bradley too, but hell I wanted Griff, Dunn, etc. I'd also note that Beane gave up on him in spite of his relative affordability.

Whoa doctor, Hendry and his love for the 30 year olds. Are we looking forward to a 2008 OF that features Monroe and his .258/.303/.448 97 OPS+ career line in a prominent position? I really hope we only see this guy on the roster for the next 10 weeks. Hopefully the last line in that quote indicates that Hendry agrees with you.

Cool down. I don't think many people here are praising Hendry's job as GM. I know I'm not. We're just saying this is a smart move. There are some who are saying this is a smart move, but there is an awful lot of Hendry ass kissing going on in this thread by some people. What a stupid remark. What a stupid remark. Boy, it sure is fun adding nothing to a discussion with ignorant posts like that huh? Yes, yes, and stating that there is a lot of people kissing Hendry's posterior is very insightful and helpful to the convo. I don't know why it bugs me b/c I think Hendry's overall performance as GM has been below avg at best, but I hate it when people fire low-ball insults at anyone who likes him. I find it equally annoying when he and Piniella are called "stupid" or "idiot". I just think there is a better way. If you read this thread there are alot of people basically kissing Hendrys ass, saying "hes got us to the playoffs", "he got us DLee and ARam" etc... I just really dont understand how at this point in Hendrys regime, people can still be praising him, and saying hes done an ok job. I get it and agree. I just did not like your methedology. Carry on.

You have been around long enough to know that people who treat Hendry like he shot their dog will not let facts get in the way of their arguments. Why do you see fit to make yourself the commentary critic of NSBB? What makes you superior to us mere mortals? Tell me please, I'd really like to know. Was it your upbringing or your education? Enlighten us all with your wisdom. Please get over it. I was hardly commenting on all of NSBB. My comment was directed at a vocal minority who seem to allow their hate of Jim Hendry to color their opinions. The irony of your post is that you often respond to hyperbole with sarcasm. So when you take that tact it's "ok", but when others do it it's not? Here's a thought: If you don't like what I post, put me on ignore or pm a mod. Otherwise, quit trolling everything I write.

This is a good trade if it turns out to be Cotts. At least Monroe has some value. Cotts is worthless at this juncture.

Damn good? $100m and we're barely over .500, and he's been damn good? Or we could be the White Sox? Over 100m and in last place? Some guys find anyway to bitch about anything that happens trade-wise. We could get Albert Pujols in a trade for Derrek Lee, and sign him to a 7 year deal, and people would still complain. And then we could get Vlad, and people would still complain about getting him because we traded away our best prospects. it's never ending. (I'm not stating Monroe is anywhere close to the talent of these two guys, but give the guy a chance before you bitch about it.) Very stupid post. It's all true. You seriously believe someone would complain about a Pujols for Lee trade or for acquiring Vlad? Please. I can think of a couple people off the top of my head who would find some sort of negative in the deals. Ditto. Just look in the Zambrano thread for proof.

I don't think this thread is meant to be serious. But I agree the more he contributes the better. Kendall needs a day off here and there and it would be nice if we could actually get a hit or two out of his back up.

Smith's picks are as bad as any I have ever seen at any time. o'Connell was equally inept at times. I wonder if they purposefully did crazy things. I watched it live and it was pretty funny watching all of them gang up on O'Connell. I think it was Salisbury who said, "At least I wasn't in a kangaroo movie."
