  1. Kenny Williams isn't very smart if he thiks that Tejada alone would fix what is broken with that team.

  3. Not exactly. Lots of hard hit balls against Sean today. It happens. Hopefully we can get some help from the pen and chip away. Just win, baby.
  4. Yeah. I hate guys who wear their sunglasses at night.
  5. I take it from the score that Sean didn't exactly "have it going" today.
  6. If all these guys are billionaires I don't understand the need for partners. Is it becuase he trying to eliminate potential rivals? If you could own and control the Cubs by putting up $501 million instead of the full billion, wouldn't you? It's spreading the risk. It's called diversifying your portfolio, don't want 75% of your assets in one business. This eliminates the possibility those guys add money to other groups. It garners much needed political support (MLB would like a group consisted of a bunch of people with greaty sway in the community). Bingo. Share the risk. Even big Stein has minority partners.
  7. A small RynoRules attended both of those games.
  8. OMG, he's getting skinnier by the day. He must be on the South Bronx Parasite diet. :D I want to do some time with his trainer. He looks sickly though. I guess keeping him away from the bars and the brats for most of the last year has its advantages.
  9. http://www.ferristech.net/users/mcever/journal/archives/underdog.jpg HELL YEAH!!!!
  10. Cancels out what he did in CF one play earlier. but the thing is, he really didn't do anything. lee was never going to run on that. stuff like that is done solely so the announcers can heap praise all over him eckstein style. when he really needs to do it right, he rainbows the throw from center...and it costs the phillies a run. How do you know Lee was never hoing to run? If that were Jacque in CF and he assumed the man at second wasn't going to run and thus lolly-gagged over (you know, the way Sammy used to in RF?) you'd be all over him. You should change your name to Nostradomus. i'm not criticizing rowand for it, i'm just not going gaga for it. lee wouldn't tag b/c it wasn't deep and he wouldn't have wanted to make the third out at third. Again, you are either missing or ignoring my point. Either way it doesn't matter enough to continue. Bad play by Jacque and Fons.
  11. Are you saying it did not matter when Rowand threw well to third? If so you ought to think the same thing about chiken-wing Jacque. yeah, i'm saying it didn't matter. lee wasn't going no matter what. jones being terrible doesn't have anything to do with it. You completely ignored my point in order to further your own.

  15. Except that very few OFers make the effort to do it.... YEAH RONNY!!!!!
  16. Could have cleaned out the Braves.
  17. At the very least with Briggs in the fold they have an incredible amount of depth. I was freaking about DT after they cut Tank and now it could be their deepest position, what with Harris, Walker, Adams and Dusty. Plus the have 5 DEs. Amazing.
  18. The West isn't balanced with 4 good teams. 3/4 of the West represent 3/5 of the worst offenses in the NL. And because those offenses are so bad, and the ballparks are generally pitching friendly, all the teams in the West have inflated pitching numbers. They may be balanced, but they aren't good. It's a wonder to me that the West isn't the same as it was a few years back, all under .500 records. Both the Cubs and the Brewers are better than all teams in the West, except perhaps the Dodgers (though with the injuries they are racking up, they probably are worse now). You realize that the Diamondbacks and Padres both have a better record than the Cubs, right? The D-backs and Cubs are even in the loss column; SD has one less loss. Not exactly a wide berth.
  19. Good. Make it happen Hendry. EXCELLENT Soriano Fotenot/Theriot Lee ARam Church DeRosa Fontenot/Theriot Kendall
  20. I never said that the NL is better than the AL, or the negative / opposite of that. My conclusion was that the gap is not necessarily as wide as it might appear.
  21. He had a bum shoulder last year that is doing better. His OPS-plus the year before (05') was 139(!!!!), and is 116 this season. He's only 26. He's got monsterous power potential.
  22. Just for s's and giggles, who do you see us sending to the Yanks? 3-team deal?
