  1. Or Barry Bonds, to even mention that POS player in the same sentence is dis-service to Bonds and baseball.
  2. if we're getting hanging splitters Shota again today this game is over.
  3. I'd be surprised if Seiya didn't take another 0fer with 3 K's today.
  4. More general frustration than anything, I understand the jump from AAA is extremely difficult. But, holy horsefeathers it would great if a Cubs rookie bat came up and showed something immediately, I know it happens. Why can't it be Cubs rookie, for once, like today?
  5. Me to, feeling really negative about today' game. Salvaging a win along Ballesteros hitting more than dribblers would be a great change of pace.
  6. Yes, of course he will, he's a Brewer and just putting on the uniform adds 50 points to his OPS+. Whereas, if he was a Cub, subtract 50 points for putting on the uniform.
  7. He'll do something, won't be big and will be, at best, offer marginal improvements, bargain bin trades if you will.
  8. I really, really hope Jed is not trading for Houser, while maybe an improvement over Rea and Brown, he's a regression ticking time bomb. That said, I think we have to resolve ourselves that Houser will be a Cub soon. He has Jed type acquisition written all over him, only saving grace is he should be dirt cheap.
  9. Think Counsell has figured this out yet? I don't think there's any question Busch needs to be moved back down. Why not try it today? Maybe, Nico in the lead off spot and Busch 5th?
  10. Does anyone know where Kyle Tucker is? Didn't he used to be good at baseball? Maybe, the Cubs will find him today.
  11. Honestly I don't why the Cubs should play at all today. According to consecutive recent news articles here the Brewers are far superior and the Cubs don't have the remotest chance today.
  12. Hold on there with all that data, according to Brewers fluff piece #1000000000 he's not having a hot streak and will not regress to who he is.
  13. "What I had wrong was the Brewers. Their unexpected performances haven't evened out, and they're not going to." - so this only true for the Cubs? Vaughn, for example, by all metrics and sample size is a bad player yet, somehow, because he's in a Brewers uniform he won't regress when all meaningful data suggests otherwise?
  14. There's no doubt, regardless of what uniform Vaughn is wearing, he's a bad player, doesn't mean he's incapable of short bursts of effectiveness. Just like Flexen turned into the pumpkin that he is, so will Vaughn.
  15. Vaughn is proven bad player there's no deny that, however, for whatever reason, he sees the ball well at American Family Field?
  16. Even tough they're facing Peralta today I sure hope he's in the line up. I'd rather watch Ballesteros hit in the hopes that something good may happen. Rather than Turner/Brujan/Berti take at bats in the knowledge the result will another useless out(s).
  17. I don't expect any thing from Ballesteros, he'll be another automatic out. Maybe, he was called up instead of say, Cassie, in hopes that he'll offer something because of prior experience?
  18. If Jed makes a trade for a bullpen arm and Hodge can get on track does that finally signal the end for Pressly? He's got to be close to being shown the door, no?
  19. I agree, the Cubs certainly have needs, most especially, in pitching. As many believe Jed needs to make deals for at least 2 starting pitchers. Be they rentals, a controlled + a rental, etc. If that's done it certainly helps the Cubs from the all around perspective.
  20. Another Brewers propaganda piece? Last week' wasn't enough? We get it, the Brewers are superior, will never lose and Cubs can do nothing but lay in their wake. Is this North Side Baseball or Brewers South? Never mind the statistics above suggesting the Brewers are offensively flawed and by far not superior to the Cubs.
  21. Albeit small sample sizes, most of the Cubs lineup has big numbers vs. Priester.
  22. Was thinking along the same lines, why not go rentals? Kelly, Soroka, Castro will not cost any of the top prospects and improve the Cubs chances, seems like a win-win to me.
  23. I well aware of this point, doesn't mean I have to like when the Cubs need pitching right now, if possible, sooner. Guess I can look on the bright side and know the 2+ month wait for pitching help will end this week.
  24. More of a hot take on my part but, boy, I'm tired of waiting.
