  1. What about Marty Turco? I believe he'll be a UFA next season and the asking price could be pretty cheap.
  2. Listening to BB yesterday, why do I waste my time? They are so over the top negative about the Martz hiring, yes, one of the success factors of his offense is the WR being in the right place at the right time. Given this, they make it sound as if the Bears WR are invalids incapable of learning or improving hence, Martz shouldn't even bother showing up. Yes, BB, every WR who isn't a Bear was born as superior route runner, etc. and there isn't even the remotest chance the Bears' WR will improve.
  3. Can Huet keep the Hawks in a game when the defense has an off night? Particularly in the playoffs? If he's hot possibly but, going into the playoffs with the hope or counting Huet to get hot has got a very Cub-like scent to it. Huet has not shown the ability to make the big momentum changing stop, look at the Minnesota game, one big save and the Hawks probably win.
  4. Looks like Bolland may be set to return Feb 3 : http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/hockey/blackhawks/ct-spt-0127-blackhawks-brite-chicago--20100126,0,2158780.story and here, I thought he was done for the season. Don't believe Burrish (SP?) is far behind.
  5. Huet came up big towards the end, that was a fantastic save.
  6. There is that technicality and I'm, of course, up North, going to see what I can find...
  7. Unfortunately, playoff Brett Farve showed up...
  8. That's a good question. Normally we try and tie in the cities involved for the menu. Obviously in this case you'd have to go all New Orleans, because Indy offers nothing. I need to get on that menu. i really want to do something different than just the usual steaks and wings. Gumbo sounds good, but I've never made it before. Queso with spicy sausage mixed in. Maybe I'll try some Crawfish Etouffee...
  9. The Illini held a team meeting - http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/college/ct-spt-0126-illinois-hoops--20100125,0,7691827.story Hopefully, growing some and playing aggressively was a big part of meeting. If Mike Davis and Company come out playing balls to the walls Penn State doesn't stand a chance Wednesday.
  10. Doesn't he have another year on his contract with Minnesota? Yep, for $13 million. I don't think any is guaranteed. Brett had a two-year deal with the Jets too. In many ways his season was nothing short of miraculus, even should he return, I don't think it's a given he'll have another such season.
  11. Nah, it comes down to that 12th man in the huddle. If not for that, it was an automatic run call for the next play and Longwell probably would have come through. Bingo Favre could have tucked it and run, picked up a few yards and gotten them back to where they likely would have been had they not had the penalty. He didn't have to try to force a throw like he did. He could have thrown the ball away if he didn't have it in him to run, to boot. But , but, but, he's the great gunslinger Brett Farve who can make something out of nothing.
  12. Well, Brett, time to start re-hearsing the offseason melodrama!!!
  13. You don't think so? You knew it was going to go from left to right maybe, I being a little unrealistic.
  14. I was thinking about that as well, that last goal was super soft.
  15. Sloppy play all around, the third goal all on Niemi couldn't control the rebound, the second unforced turnover, the first a bounce that went Vancouver way. Basically, they've taken advantage of every Hawk mistake, it more the Hawks lack of good play than anything the Canucks are doing.
  16. Kane just hit the post but, drew a penalty.
  17. atdhe.net always has one. if that's one isn't working, PM me and i'll give you a link to a second place Once again, thank you very much.
  18. Anyone know of a Web feed for tonights game? Thanks in advance.
  19. This is a quote from an article, or is this one of the goofs over there like Ryan Christie? I believe it is a goof, but I think he took the AD thing from an article. Not 100 percent sure. Either way intresting stuff. His seat has to be getting warmer. I agree his seat is getting a little warm. Missing the tournament this year is going to require some serious leaps forward next year. Obviously the tournament is necessary, but I'm not sure he can survive something like an 8 seed and done next year. I'm not sure he should either. Of course I'm a kool-aid swilling homer and think we're making the tourney this year, and have a Final 4 chance next year. I agree, now that the recruiting been fixed, he's running out of excuses, with the addition of Leonard, Richmond and hopefully, a healthy Crandell Head. There's no reason not to expect a elite 8 or more run in 2011-12, the team' going to be loaded with big time talent.
  20. Huet still worries me, the guy faced only 18 shots and still managed to let in 4 goals, was it not the same story in Minnesota? Faced a low number of shots but, found a way to give up 6 goals - you can't ask more of the Hawks defense. They limit the number of opprotunities for the opponent, at some point Huet' gotta start coming up big.
  21. Eventually, we'll see some consistent play from the Illini maybe, it'll result in some NIT wins.
  22. LOL, they're going to run this whole thing by committe. Who needs a coordinator? You've seen the player huddle on the sidelines. Now the Bears are going to invent the assistant huddle to vote on plays & defenses. Supah Bowl. College of Coaches anyone? That sure worked out well for the Cubs. I don't understand what the Bears are doing either, Lovie wants to run, run, run the ball. If that's the case why trade for Cutler and has Lovie been watching the playoffs at all?
  23. Agreed after the first period. I'll take a win in Detroit any day though. Detroit never lead in the game. It was a road game against a divisional rival. That's hardly "stealing one.". It's winning a tough road game in hostile territory. Good point, the Blackhawks are better plain and simple, the Red Wings blew they're wad today and still couldn't win.
  24. The Saints are going score a lot of points next week, guys are still open all over the place and I believe the Saints will keep the Vikings off Brees. Will the Saints be able to make a few stops?
  25. Nice win, had my doubts going into the shootout, is it me or was there something cheesy about Bertuzzi' distracting Nemi with an ice shower?
