  1. Some Duke/Scheyer fluff - http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/college/ct-spt-0330-haugh-jon-scheyer--20100329,0,3157171.story By the way, I'll boo and dislike Scheyer if want to and I do, he didn't go Illinois and that's, that.
  2. How the hell did Duke manage so many offensive rebounds?
  3. Amazing isn't it? The slower, less athletic team manages to have the foul advantage, simply amazing.
  4. I'm hoping Baylor and Butler because it would be something different (and I hate Duke). Seconded about Baylor, I hate Duke as well, but, Baylor' far more fun to watch. They're aren't just a bunch of jump shooters like Duke, also, being quicker and athletically superior to Duke I'm trying to figure out how they've more team fouls than Duke.
  5. 7 goals on 20 shots, doesn't really matter how well the defense plays when he's in goal. He can't even keep the game close, really shouldn't be anywhere near the playoff roster.
  6. You really need to shut up. Bring 'em on, I hope the Hawks meet them in playoffs, it's not last season. This time around the Hawks are the better team and they'll take the Wings in 6.
  7. Well, that was a fitting end to the Illini' season, start out disinterested, get down big, decide to play, make it close, lose, typical.
  8. I don't know. They might play like crap, they might get on a hot streak again. Nothing to do but hope for the best. Sports are fickle like that. I definitely *wanted* a better goalie. I just don't think the season's over because we didn't get one. As we showed last night, we are perfectly capable of beating the best in the Western Conference with what we have now. I agree there's nothing to do but hope for the best. For the cost I don't know if there was a significant goalie upgrade available before the deadline. I had read about and mentioned Marty Turco but, at the cost of good young player or prospect, would he have been much better than Huet or Niemi? Probably not.
  9. I'm sorry that I offended you by doubting your amazing psychic powers. You should be, just kidding. What do you think of the goalies and defense going into the playoffs? They've been average to bad for a month+, think they'll get back to their earlier good play? If I remember correctly, while seemingly, everyone else was going nuts about the Hawks trading for a goalie you've been saying it'll be alright with Huet/Niemi.
  10. Never been more upset about a 2 goal lead. It appears the Hawks are out playing them having outshot them 28-19, we'll see. I think the Hawks were easily the better team tonight. 2-0 final think you're correct of course, we'll have to get the Kyle seal of approval before it can finalized.

  12. what would a loss to William and Mary have been like, Katrina? I beieve he also said last season was his toughest, yeah real tough Roy. Had some early season injuries but, look a bench full of McDonald' All Americans to fill in, stayed afloat, got healthy and you ended up winning the NC, what a tool.
  13. What a tool. tim, i'm not going to call for him to be fired, but i sure as hell am going to be critical of everything he does until he makes a deep tourney run. Deeper than 2005? So you're saying we have to win the championship to be happy. Gotcha. 1 tournament win in 5 years ain't cutting it. title game appearance aside, any other coach at a major program would be getting the same heat with those numbers. He'll have more talent to work with, I believe we'll see some deep tourney runs in the near future.
  14. I agree, they gain nothing but dumb play - see Keller right before the half - with Cole, Keller and Jordan on the floor. What was the starting lineup?
  15. 3. plus there was the philly game they have had a lead in 7 of their last 8 losses What's disappointing is when the Hawks got up 4-2 in the third I knew Phoenix would at least tie the game. At the point I hoping to get out of Phoenix with a point, just pathetic.
  16. I didn't think anything would make me laugh today, but you did it. Glad I could accomodate you, even had the Illini made the tournament they wouldn't have been around long. NIT whatever, I could give a rat's ass, what is important is the Illini getting more playing time setting up 2011-
  17. Like you mentioned the defense sucked, I don't blame Niemi for tonight. The Hawks couldn't clear the zone and Phoenix got some fortunate bounces as a result.
  18. That's fine and mark Phoenix down for an early round upset as well, I know I poised the question about whether they were an average team having a great season. I believe they are, their last two goals were all about very poor defense by the Hawks, Hawks play a little better on defense tonight and they win 4-1. yeah they arent doing anything in the playoffs, but who cares. the hawks have been playing awful defense for like 2 months now. it's past the point where you can expect it to turn around. god i just hope we dont get detroit. they'd beat us right now. I agree, it would be awfully nice tomorrow if they Hawks play defense like they're capable of, if so, Phoenix doesn't have a chance.

  20. I wonder if the Coyotes are an example of a not-that-good team having a great season?
  21. Yeah suck it. We were both No. 1 overall seeds but we are still alive ... err wait you were the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament instead of NIT. Damn. The way I look at it the Illini playing in the NIT is a plus, they're most likely going to play in at least two more games. Getting Paul, Richardson and Griffey more playing time buildng towards the future. Even had they made the NCAA they probably would have been bounced in the 2nd round - next few seasons are for the NCAA FF, etc. Sure it is a benefit to get those guys playing time. It's not that you are excited about the games in the NIT or even that you are happy Kansas lost. It's the comment about Self watching Illinois play since his team is done already that I found humorous. It's like a guy in fantasy football making fun of the regular season champ for being upset because your team won and will be playing in the consolation bracket championship. Yes, it petty on my part but, I don't mind in the least that Self fell on face this year.

  23. I gotta admit, I enjoyed a good measure of schadenfreude at the outcome of UNI-KU game. Suck it Sherron Collins and Bill Self, watch the Illini on Monday and quite probably beyond, it's only the NIT. But, at least they're still playing.
  24. Go Bucky. I might have picked Wofford against a lot of teams, but not sure they match up well with Wisconsin. We'll see. SI picked Wofford, which surprised me. I generally no longer bet against Bo Ryan or Tom Izzo to go out early under any circumstances. I picked the Badgers as a sweet 16 team unfortunately, Kentucky will be waiting for them. I'd really like to see Kentucky and Calipari go down at the hands of the Badgers and Big Ten but, I don't think it's going to happen.
  25. huh? In consecutive games Seabrook and Campbell have gone down as a result of questionable hits - I was suggesting it's more than a coincidence perhaps, teams looking to injury a Hawk player. I know it's not true but, it's really starting to piss me off. no, not even a little bit Wiz probably did intend to injure Seabrook, but that was only as retribution for the earlier Perry hit, and Ovechkin just throws his body around at everyone like that Tonight' game will ne interesting, I gotta believe the Hawks are po'ed and frustrated, if LA comes close to a questionable hit they may goon it up.
