  1. Your Boilers played awfully well yesterday, sure they got handled on the boards and the Illini go hot from three. But, that's what it took to beat them, any other night the Boilers win. Don't know if I'm sold on Nebraska, a very good college team, Final Four/National Championship good? No. At some point or another you're going to need a guy with NBA type talent to step up and win a game for you. Saw something about Nebraska being the basketball equivalent of IU in football. Not even close, IU had legit NFL talent (5 players in the top NFL' Tankethon top 100, 4 players in CBS Sports top 100, 5 in PFF Top 100) plus a Heisman winning QB who is likely a top 5 pick in 2026. Nebraska basketball has nothing approximating that, I may be wrong still, wouldn't surprise me if Michigan wipes the floor with them Tuesday night.
  2. I think Painter was sticking with the hot hand in Mayer, dude was unconscious there for a moment.
  3. Was thinking the same thing during today's game. I was conceding the loss to Purdue and thinking I want to see the Illini return the favor to Nebraska. Beat them on their home court and hand them their first loss of the season. Unfortunately, I think Nebraska' first loss is coming in their next game, at Michigan, so the Illini won't be able to burst their bubble.
  4. Him, Loyer and Kaufman-Renn are history for the Illini, never will have to see them again in the regular season. Good riddance!
  5. There something about Wagler, the sleepy like smoothness to his game, under control, it's unreal for a freshman. A freshman no one had ever heard of, have to give some credit to Underwood and his staff for scouting - guess it's really, his son, Tyler we have to thank.
  6. Yep, I'm idiot, all my nonsensical doom bonering, of course, Wagler goes nuts. The Illini crush Purdue on the boards, withstand a superb game by Smith and win!!!!!!
  7. Okay, let's hope the Illini and Underwood prove me wrong about today, that would be great.
  8. When have Underwood' teams won a big game like today? I may have exaggerated however, this is the type of game his teams rarely win.
  9. Honestly, so what? Last I checked Ben and Caleb aren't going any where. Is it an incorrect assessment to say the NFL is the most soap opera like of the four major sports?
  10. Big game today for the Illini and, Brad Underwood, the James Franklin of college basketball, to lose. They may keep it close, Stojakovic may even do a good job defending Brad Smith, ultimately, as all of Underwood' teams tend to do, they'll find a way to lose.
  11. We've definitely have not seen the best of Rome, as you said, let's give him a full year before writing him off.
  12. Bidding their time, remember who the Bears "interviewed" while waiting for the Lions season to end?
  13. Just read an article regarding Bears' receivers and drops. Didn't realize how much they dropped the ball and how many yards it cost Caleb. National media likes to harp on Caleb' CP, not taking into account just how much his receivers dropped the ball which was quite a bit. One way or the other I strongly suspect the drop issue will be remedied next season with the result being Caleb and the Bears offense going nuclear.
  14. Maryland is very bad nevertheless, a good result and effort from the Illini. Think we'll see Stojakovic on Smith Saturday, I like it, don't expect the Illini to win. Stojakovic appears to have the makings of decent defender, he hung with Maryland' Coit limiting him to 5-15, 1-8 3PT and we've seen Smith struggle with height.
  15. Don't really care about this or that assistant leaving for another position. Ben and Caleb remain and it's the only thing that matters.
  16. My thought is they'll bring Byard back, letting Brisker and Nashon Wright walk, I'm okay with this, no need to break the bank on Wright. Let some other team make the mistake of signing him to a bad contract.
  17. I think it best to assume he's done, spend a day 2 pick on the OL.
  18. I noticed that while checking out his profile at NFL Tankethon, fit right in with Indiana.
  19. Boswell broke his right hand in practice. WTF is it with Brad Underwood teams? I understand a broken hand is freak occurrence and could happen to anyone however, why does something like this keep happening to his teams? Nearly every horsefeathers season - Ayo getting punched, sickness, concussions, TSJ wrongful conviction, etc. - I knew things were lately going too well.
  20. Bain Jr. will long gone but, Akheem Mesidor maybe be there at 25.
  21. Hard pass on two 1st rounders for Maxx. I'd prioritize DL with the first rounder, then go OL, followed by defense - LB/DB.
  22. What makes it worse is Kirk was a conman grifter, who may have not believed all the hate he spewed. Money was and is the ultimate goal it's disappointing Shaw can't or doesn't want to see the truth.
  23. Looking at Stafford' numbers this season, it's not all that far fetched to say Caleb. With a similar completion percentage, would come close to replicating such numbers. My goodness, wouldn't that make all haters and Packers' fans heads explode?
  24. Sure, he'll be good for a few more years but, MVP level? I'd say the chances are silm to none he'll continue at such a level, this season is clearly a career year for him.
  25. The D will improve with health and an infusion of talent, I think, after financials to free up cap space and re-signings, one of Mack, Reddick or Joey Bosa on a one-year. Plus the draft and, health, would be enough to get to an average defense.
