  1. They came headhunting and still took, what, 7 or so minutes for a penalty to be called on them.
  2. Who could blame him? They so much as breath on a Flyer and it's called.
  3. This PP [expletive] is getting out of hand, I don't question the Hawks being called but, the lack of calls on the Flyers is questionable. They've tripped, interfered and slashed like crazy yet no calls.
  4. What the hell is Ricketts going to do? Also just so you know, Ricketts didn't have to choose between fixing the bathrooms or spending more money on the team. He is the owner, so he has to worry about all areas of the team even if winning is his #1 priority. When there are so many problems with the product on the field, he looks like an idiot constantly worrying about the ballpark and the "fan experience." Winning cures all. Cub fans need to treat this organization like the Blackhawk fans treated it...quit going to games, quit buying merchandise and quit watching/listening. As a fan, I am sick of hearing Ricketts talk about winning yet nothing changes in relation to the baseball operations. Piniella should be fired today. You can't fire 25 players, but Lou can go. Again, one run in 4 of the last 5 games and he basically does nothing to shake things up. Ricketts has been the owner for 6 months, what do you expect to happen in 6 months? He's never run a baseball team before, and he is just getting his feet wet here. He needs time to evaluate everything in the organization before going around firing people and making radical changes. After such a short amount of time, there is no way any of us fans really know how Ricketts is going to run the team long term. By the end of this offseason, it will begin to look clear, and by the next offseason we'll have a pretty good idea of how this team will be run and at that point we can judge how much he wants to win or how capable that is in his hands. I know losing is frustrating, but if you honestly thought we had a good shot of winning the WS this year no matter what we did, unless a lot of pieces fell perfectly into place, then you need to lower your expectations a bit. I completely agree we should be contending every year with our resources, but the blame is not on Ricketts, its on the general manager of this club. Beyond a doubt, given the payroll, one could make a case this Cub team is one of the most poorly constructed, if not the worst, in the history of Baseball.
  5. It's so refreshing to see the results of truly professional team such as the Blackhawks. Who would have thought one day the Blackhawks would be the best team - and it's not even close - in Chicago. They're the polar opposite of the Cubs, Bears, Bulls and White Sox as far as how to run a sports team.
  6. Yes!!!! I'd say that's as close to a productive ab as Ramirez is going to get.
  7. Does Ramirez manage to put the ball in play this ab?
  8. It's about time Jones hit the dirt, I know it won't happen however, it might get him thinking about something other than the BP the Cubs keep throwing to him.
  9. Given the Hawks skating ability that's an amazing coincidence, it's hard to believe he's been objective in any way shape or form.
  10. I will wager you a nickle that the Wings finish higher then the Hawks next season Based on what?
  11. I saw Allen hit that three and I said to myself why can't the Magic guard a guy who basically hangs out around the perimeter looking for the three? On the replay I saw why - Garnett the moving screen, why does it seem the Celtics keeping getting away with that [expletive]?
  12. I know we've been burned as Cub fans and maybe it's hard to wrap our minds around our team being the better team but, one can slice it a million ways. And it'll lead to the same conclusion the Hawks are the best team in the NHL. They bested the Sharks, they'll beat the Flyers as well, no matter how many ways we try to manifest the Flyers as something more than they are.
  13. Holy [expletive] Habs SHOOT THE [expletive] PUCK!!!!!!!!!
  14. neither niemi nor the blackhawks dominated vancouver. But Philly isnt Vancouver. I'm just saying whoever the Hawks face in face in the Finals, could easily be the weakest opponent Chicago will face in these playoffs. When all is said and done I believe the Predators will end up being the toughest opponent.
  15. neither niemi nor the blackhawks dominated vancouver. But Philly isnt Vancouver. I'm just saying whoever the Hawks face in face in the Finals, could easily be the weakest opponent Chicago will face in these playoffs. One could make the argument the Flyers are better than appear, et al but, think about this: -Injury excuse? Sorry, Blackhawks actually lost more games to injuries than the Flyers - 73 to 54. -Flyers put up 88 points in the Eastern Conference, they would have finished 12th in the Western Conference also, consider, those 88 points came against predominately weaker opponents as well. -The Hawks other the hand, put up 112 points against a stronger schedule and faced far better teams in the playoffs than the Flyers. Make no mistake our Blackhawks are far better than the Flyers or Canadiens.
  16. Why do many of the analysts keep looking for reasons the Hawks are up 2-0 other than the Hawks are the better team? Engblom last night - "Toews and Kane are no better than Zetterberg and Datsuyk why can't the Sharks handle them?" - that may be so but, Mr. Engblom, the Blackhawks are better than the Red Wings.
  17. I agree but, what's encouraging to me is they're going to start playing better at the United Center so, you got to like they're chances in game 3.
  18. IDK what you are talking about, but Melrose has been on the Hawks bandwagon since Toews/Kane era began. In fact the Hawks are his favorite to win the Stanley Cup. Not to mention he's in love with the Hawks jersey. Yeah I swear in every analysis he throws in "and they have the best jersey in sports." Well, yeah.
  19. 'Bout time the Hawks start playing better at home, you can feel it coming.
  20. I don't know about that earlier in the season he was really complimentary of the Hawks, saying he loves the way they play.
  21. Yes, Hossa has been awesome, even though it would have been a cheapie was hoping he was get an empty netter. What about Bolland!!!!! What more can you say?
  22. The thing about playing with house money is that you still need to keep winning in order to finish ahead. Good point.
  23. It's drawing near, the Hawks are playing with house money but, wouldn't it be something if they won tonight as well? Man, up 2-0 going back to the United Center, where they're bound to start playing better, it'd be a treat.
  24. Wouldn't Three Floyds brews be available in Elkhart? If so, that alone makes a decent place.
