Could an offensive minded head coach make this offense more effective?

Not counting Maurice Creek, Illinois has as many 4-star-or-above players as Indiana (although IU has two 5-stars in that group). That and this year's start really speak to how poor of a job Bruce Weber did. He also had Meyers Leonard and Crandall Head to use at some point last year. He had as much talent as anyone in America not named Kentucky. He just didn't put together pieces that fit. As stated above their playing to their strengths, we saw flashes of it last season but, inevitably, they stuck with a weakness for them, Weber' motion offense. It really does speak to a poor coaching job, stubbornness or both by Weber.

I'd rather the Bears miss the playoffs I believe that'll be the end of the end of the Lovie Smith era. A large part of the recent losses to Green Bay can be blamed on coaching, an offensive minded head coach doesn't lose all these games. An example - their continued use of Hester as a WR, he doesn't know where to be, cannot run routes, he's never going to get it yet, Lovie keeps putting in a position to fail.

I'm thinking Noah might be part of a deal for Love and that's OK. When you've got a chance to add true second scoring option like Love you do it. With Love we'll see no more of the Heat putting LeBron on Rose and forgetting about everyone else.

Listening to B&B earlier today apparently, there's something bad brewing between the Timberwolves and Kevin Love. So bad that Love wants out and, according to B&B, wouldn't mind playing for the Bulls. He's ripe for the picking, get it done Bulls, a Rose and Love both 24, on the same team will be serious contender in the East.

Thus far the Illini are playing a more aggressive style or maybe it just appears so when one takes the ball to the hoop. I know the 3 pts are falling but, Paul, Bertrand, Abrams and Richardson are taking to the hoop more often than last season. What puzzles me is Weber recruited these players yet, he didn't take advantage of their ability to get to the hoop.

Groce can and likes to recruit, would Weber been able to land Nunn? The Parker ship sailed long ago for Illinois and I could give a rat's ass about him but, Groce has made progress in Chicago. It's going to pay off in the future, it seems Groce has taken the approach I would have - [expletive] what everyone says. I'm going to recruit Chicago and it's going to work.

Why hasn't Mark Prior signed there yet? He'd be healed instantly. I thought the same, don that Cardinal uniform and feel the magic.

My question is after the Cardinals win the WS, who are they going to get off the scrap heap to play out his ass next year? Mark Prior? Jeff Bagwell? Does it matter? They could grab the best HS player in the St. Louis area and he'd probably work out.

I'm still finding it amazing the Bears may have a WR corps the opposition is going to have to game plan for, no more smurfs who have trouble getting open and fighting for the ball. After watching the Bears defensive backfield deal with Calvin Johnson the last few years, it's great the Lions are going to get the same treatment from Marshall and Jeffery - it's about [expletive] time!!!!

If Rose was healthy I'd be all for that. The question becomes where would he go after the year. The Nets likely won't have the cap room for Howard unless they make trades (right now the 3 of Johnson, Williams, and Wallace will make 48 million or so next year by themselves). The Lakers, Heat, Knicks will all have too much money committed. As much as he may dislike Chicago, what other city would he be excited about in order to turn down the extra money? Howard can kick and scream all he wants, but unless he gets what he wants this summer he's rapidly running out of options. Depends on what his priority is; I know money usually trumps all, but he's really sticking to this crybaby garbage in terms of how few places he wants to play. Maybe he genuinely can't stand it here. I do remember him mumbling about the coldness in February but, last time I checked Brooklyn isn't a tropical paradise in February. What is Paxson doing? He has a golden opportunity to bottom out, built in legitimate excuses, and qualify for the lottery to have a chance at adding another star for Rose. Instead he's attempting to build a mediocre, fringe playoff team, how is that going to get them closer to the NBA Championship?

If the Heat don't win it all this year one has to wonder if they'll win at all. As the years go on, due to their financial situation, what are they going to get besides older? Lebron is immaterial to me, Wade' the real dick in this scenario, seeing him go down is a joy to watch.

I'd like to see the Pacers win but, I'm content with them beating the [expletive] out of the Heat - it only increases the chances they won't win the championship.

I was pissed about the Rose and Noah injuries and the bad luck that seemingly only victimizes my teams Cubs, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks along with being irritated with Sixers acting like they just won the NBA championship. But, I'll gain some satisfaction from seeing the Celtics kick they're now arrogant asses with Garnet kicking them in throat along the way.
