  1. Don't trust him to get it right in any phase, I'm certain we'll see more of the same nonsense.
  2. Hell, putting together a decent OL goes a long way towards respectability. It's doable, for most any GM, well, average GM, which Poles can't even manage.
  3. Did a comparison between Dexter and Carter, stats wise, there's nothing to suggest Carter' appreciably better than Dexter. Get another guy who can get to the QB and we'll see Dexter have a larger impact. My guess is a less than healthy Sweat allowed teams to double up on Dexter for most of the season.
  4. Most anybody can see that, how come someone like McCaskey and, I guess, Warren cannot? There's absolutely no empirical evidence for keeping Poles, none.
  5. Definitely, and great choices at that, we'll see how fares when he loses one or both of them.
  6. I believe he's nothing more than a glorified meathead who's propped up by excellent assistance coaches.
  7. Other than Caleb, the punt return was my favorite play of the season. After the Packers won in Chicago they were ready to anoint their special teams coach as the greatest ever. Some kind of a special teams whisperer because he had the "foresight" to predict a blocked kick on a noodle legged kicker who has to kick a line drive on long attempts. Just hilarious the Bears were able to fool them so badly, was Blackwell even touched?
  8. I don't believe so, the dude's an injury waiting to happen. He can barely finish a game, don't know how the Bears can be blamed.
  9. Why wouldn't it be a cheap incentive laden contract? I'd offer him a one-year prove it deal. With his lack of availability, I don't believe he'll get a multi-year guaranteed money offer on the open market.
  10. Honestly, Rome Odunze' earlier sideline catch has been better than anything Mr. Greatest WR Jefferson has done tonight.
  11. That was always there, wouldn't be surprised if the Rams take care of them next week.
  12. They just scored again, WTF all world greatest ever Justin Jefferson? Can't get open against a JV secondary? And here I thought the Vikings would light up the scoreboard.
  13. Please, please let Poles be a causality Bears.
  14. Don't see an NFL week 18 thread so I'll just discuss Lions/Vikings here, I like the Vikings. I believe they'll manage a key stop or two whereas, I don't see the Lions coming close to stopping the Vikings. The Niners, with a patch work OL, and other injuries on offense rolled all over the Lions. Niners beat themselves, it wasn't anything the Lions did on defense.
  15. Game with Washington was much closer than it should have been, definitely a let down by the young Illini. Still, they won, a win on road in Big Ten is a good thing. Hell, two wins on a West Coast swing, I doubt many Midwest/East Big Ten teams could have pulled that off.
  16. Yeah, they'll be in position to draft one of the top OL prospects.
  17. I find it ironically hilarious the Bears abused the Packers on special teams, totally faking them out of their collective pants with DJ Moore on the punt return. Take that GB special teams guru, ha, ha, ha. Another thing I noticed, the Packer kicker had to resort to the line drive on the 55 yard FG. You never know, that may come back to bite them in the ass vs. the Eagles. Although with Love and Watson hurting, I don't think giving the ball to Jacobs on every down is going to work in Philadelphia. Therefore, there's a good chance the game may not come down to a FG. Surprisingly, Santos managed to get some air under his kick, I thought certain he was going to line drive it right into a block.
  18. They've got to do right by Caleb, regardless of the circumstances he just helped end an 10 and 11 game losing streaks. Non of this Flores, Vrabel horsefeathers.
  19. No, they've got to give noodle leg the boot and enter the modern realm of NFL kickers.
  20. Maybe, hopefully, they take care of Washington on Sunday, if they do, they might inch into the top 20.
  21. Yes it was, thought the Illini, having the better back court, had a chance, well, turns out they did. Funny thing, while watching the beat down and face plant of Oregon in the Rose Bowl I was thinking what if the same happened in basketball? It was great to see Ben Humrichous finally break out, he's been struggling of late, and Tre White. He's not mentioned much when people talk of Illinois basketball, he's sneaky good.
  22. Well, if this is true, I've got no hope. Just resolve myself to the fact the Bears are stuck in permanent hibernation and nothing will change until the ownership changes. Flores or Vabrel, meathead defense, defense, control the clock, middling 8-9, 9-8, 10-7 here we come.
  23. The potential for an all Big Ten Championship game is certainly real, suck it ESPN.
  24. I know plenty of us are resolved to the fact the Bears aren't going to change their ways. The other side of the coin could be that Vrabel and Flores are the Bears doing their due diligence. After all, Poles did get McCaskey to break with tradition, etc. and fire Eberflus. Maybe, just maybe, they're not headed down the BS meathead defense path.
  25. One would think Poles, coming from Kansas City, might know the meathead defense approach is outdated and ineffective.
