    If I was Mark Cuban I'd have DFA'd Marquis a long time ago. He'd be one to do it no matter what his contract. The Cubs can afford to eat the rest. We have a far cheaper option that can't be any worse, and we refuse to use him in Marquis's role.

    They kept pitching to Pudge in the NLCS when they often didn't have to, and he kept killing us. It has to be an organizational philosophy of some sort.

    DFA Marquis, and do it now. Marshall can do just as well as Marquis for a fraction of the price. This guy SUCKS.

    I'm pro-wild card and, I guess, anti-4 divisions per league. And I don't know why you're hung up on the Yankees and Red Sox. i'm not. I don't care if one of them is left out every year. Look at the year when the Braves and Giants each won over 100 games and one didn't make it to the playoffs. That was the main reason we have the wild card today, because of the uproar of a 100+ win team sitting home in October.

    New York could easily support another franchise. They supported 3 baseball teams for many years back when the population is half of what it is now. You'd have to put it in Manhattan or Brooklyn, though. You couldn't infringe on The Bronx or Queens, and Staten Island doesn't have the population to support one.
