  1. I've never wanted anything more in my entire life than to see the Cubs win the World Series. Just once.
  2. To get full justice going through Arizona and then Florida would help getting over the past couple of playoffs the Cubs were in. True, but we can't beat either team to save our lives, especially on the road. Yes, we swept AZ in that series, but we missed Webb. That was probably a big factor. I guess this upcoming weekend series will be a big test.
  3. I'm thinking Chicago won't get the 2016 games. Rio seems to be the front-runner at this point, especially since the Games have never been held in South America.
  4. I have no idea what that feeling is like, because I've never experienced it. But it sounds awesome.
  5. Wait until the bottom of the 9th for this, please, so there is no retaliation.
  6. I have some more... -- Ever-changing umpire strike zones. It's not "creative" to have 10 guys with 10 different zones. It should be one set zone set by MLB, and the umpires should enforce it. And if they don't, then MLB should find someone who will. --Ever changing strike zones depending on who the pitcher is. I'm so tired of hearing commentators tell me "he hasn't earned that strike out there yet." Really? So a future HOF'er can throw it 5 inches off the outside and it's ok that it's called a strike, yet a journeyman pitcher or a rookie can throw the exact same pitch and it's a ball? That's crap. That's like how like Michael Jordan could have elbowed someone in the face driving to the lane and not get called with a foul, but if anyone else did it, it would get called by every ref in the league. -- The "instant replay will mess with the purity of the game" argument. So, you'd rather have a possible incorrect outcome, just because that's "the way it's always been" rather than having a system in place that insures a correct outcome? Would you be so in favor of it if the Cubs were on the bad end of a blown call late in a playoff game, or in the division race? Just because that's the way it's always been doesn't mean that's the way it always has to be.
  7. Michael Phelps is a damn beast. He can't be human. Will he compete in London in 2012? He could theoretically end up with 20 gold medals in his career after those games. That's mind blowing!
  8. That would be the best of both worlds. LA would push both the Brewers and Arizona down the standings.
  9. Just as long as they cool off in time for the playoffs.
  10. Highest mark over .500 since 1984. Let's hope October ends better.
  11. Yup. Time for the trainer, the batboy, the clubhouse attendant, and the blonde in the 3rd row with the nice rack to play the rest of the game.
  12. Hey Chicago, whaddya say, the Cubs are gonna SWEEP today!
  13. Uh oh. Derwood's hearing voices again.
  14. Damn, DeRo is hot as a nuclear explosion right now. Holy crap.
  15. I love you, Jimmy. And it doesn't even feel strange typing that.
  16. Jason: THROW STRIKES!! Marshall for rotation, please.
  17. Here we go with that damn chop. It was fun 17 years ago, guys. It's sucked ever since.
  18. What the hell, guys? Cover second! You suck, Jason.
  19. I'm no swing expert, but it looks like he pulls off the ball outside. It seems like he gets a steady diet of away, away, away and isn't able to do anything with it.
  20. pass. He's Gary Gaetti 2008 I too have had those feelings. However, it's not that similar to the Gaetti situation in that Gaetti was never good and was playing out of his mind. While I didn't expect this performance from Edmonds, he's a borderline hall of famer who has put together a good season. I'm not advocating resigning him, but there are some conditions under which I would like to see him back I think "Borderline HOF'er" is pushing it, but he's had a very good career.
  21. Let's not get carried away. I wouldn't be opposed, as long as the money is right. I agree. It would mean we would have to move Pie though... I wonder what his projections/performance will be Not necessarily. Pie could be the 4th OF, and could start if Edmonds decides to suck again. He could play LF to rest Soriano, or take over in RF if Fuku still sucks.
