  1. Congrats! It's pretty great. My boy is just about two months old. There are some downsides, of course, but it's definitely worth it. My mom already bought him a little Lee jersey T. I brought him home in a Cubs onesie... he was swimming in it, but I had to get him started early. If we ever have a daughter my wife has already agreed to let me name her Addison. I wanted Addsion Ivy, but that was pushing it. Soon-to-be wife already killed the Addison idea. Alright Woody, stop screwing around man. I got her to agree to Addison Corinne, which I think is beautiful. CUBS WIN! Eat it, Braves.

I pray to God my future kids grow up thinking the Cubs were always 'this good'. +1 I hope my kid never knows the kind of suffering I put up with as a kid with this team.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Although I really don't think my wife is going to make it until November. I'm thinking late October. With my luck, her water will break during Game 7 of the World Series with the Cubs in it.

  6. Yes. They should paint it black. I see a red room. Door. You're showing your age. :ninja: Eh? What's that sonny? I can't hear you. Do you and Fred have discussions about which brand of hearing aid is the best? Thankfully, no. I'm not THAT old. But a new baby does take it out of you. I have my first on the way due on November 7th.

  8. Marmol's a former catcher. He can handle himself at the plate. :D Whoever converted him should get a raise.
  9. Somewhere, Dusty Baker scowls in disapproval.
  10. http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh153/OleMissCub17/tackleowned2.gif And he was so close. Good times. I love how he just stands there and doesn't even move.
  11. I'd cry too if I was that big of a pansy.
  12. Howry has been bad all year. Therefore, he loses.
  13. He had better not be on the playoff roster, even. Anyone in the minors we can call up to replace him if he gets DFA'ed?
  14. Probably something about incriminating pictures of Lou with a Shetland Pony.
  15. Think Philly will send us Eyre back for Howry?
  16. Lou may want to send the trainer out there. Bob may be in shock.
  17. Atta boy, Howry. We DFA'd the wrong guy.
  18. Escobar plunked in the ribs by Lilly, Escobar pointed out to him, both benches cleared, no punches thrown, no ejections, warnings to both benches.
  19. I refuse to believe that statistic. Straight from the mouth of Pat Hughes. I just can't believe that the Cubs in the last 63 years have been unable to win 8 in a row on the road. I mean I know the Cubs haven't had the best teams, but wow. :-k I swore ESPN said the cubs' downfall this year was that they were terrible on the road. They were terrible. Then they got hot. After this streak ends if we can manage .500 on the road the rest of the way we'll be in good shape.
  20. then you're on 700 not 720 I'm on 720, and it slowly fades in. I just adjusted it now, and I can hear Pat and Ron, but in about a few minutes, I'm going to hear Marty again until his voice overtakes Pat's and I'll have to fidget with the tuner knob again.

  22. This is odd... I'm listening on my cheap little $5 walkman. WGN is full of static and is coming in poorly, but I can hear Marty Brenneman in the background over Pat Hughes announcing the Reds game, and that's coming in clear as a bell. Weird.
  23. Lilly hit Escobar in the ribs, Escobar decided to be a jerk and point out there, both benches cleared but everyone just stood around, and then after he stopped crying he took 1st base.
