    well, the fact of the matter is that neifi has been horrendous since april. since that's the first month of the season, there isn't a lot of picking and choosing going on - it's a continuous stretch of time since then. it's not like someone is saying "well neifi is a .500 ops hitter on mondays and wednesdays in the summer during day games when the moon the night before was full."

    the only bright spot of this game: dusty clapping for neifi after he blew it with the bases loaded. the cubs just make me laugh now.

    why? so you don't have to see a better player sitting on the bench behind neifi? nomar is fine to play - dusty just wants to play his boys as much as possible.

    i suppose this is the right forum for this, since i don't want to be starting the game thread.... when will the start time for tomorrow's game be announced? everywhere i check just says "TBD" - tickets for the game say 1:20, since i guess tickets were sold before espn chose what games they wanted for the sunday night baseball matchups. i'm assuming the start time is 7pm, as most of the sunday night games are, but i wanted to make sure...

    I'm still of the belief that other teams' fans should stay out of the game threads. i have to wholeheartedly agree.

It's a very relevant stat that Pujols has stepped it up as the Cardinals locked up the division, while Lee went 0-for-forever during that 8 game losing streak that crippled you guys. the cardinals have had the division locked up for months. don't act like they haven't. lee had a slump - okay, big deal. pujols, too, has slumped. it doesn't take away from the fact that lee has been an overall better player all season - note that i said ALL SEASON, which is what MVP voting is based on, not an 8-game stretch in august.

    Well, he has played shortstop for Expos and Dodgers. yes, but wasn't he moved to 2nd because he no longer had the arm for it? iirc, the "official" reason given for why grudz was never tried at ss last year was that he didn't have the arm for it.

    Poo Holes or Edmonds tomorrow would just make my weekend. Yeah, although I now would like to see Prior drill either one of them. now THAT would make my weekend (as long as we win), as i'll be at the game on sunday.

    Nobody worth beaning coming up this inning. Mahoney is a long-time card + hes the catcher. Good target. Wasn't Mahoney in the Cubs minors (and a brief cup of coffee) a few years ago? Or is that a different Mahoney? same guy
